Hi All,

Menu is shaping up nicely. I know we won't go hungry.

Dona, We are bringing a turkey fryer for cooking the omelets in case you can't borrow your brother-in-laws fryer. Do you want us to bring any stew ingredients?
John, the stuffing for the turkey feast and bread for breakfast sounds great. If everyone can bring their own preferred omelet fixings that would probably work best. I know we'll have extras if someone forgets something.

MENU:

FRIDAY DINNER -
Hobo Stew - Dona & Charlie
Spuds for Hobo - Chris & Julie
Corn on the cob - Chris & Julie
Fresh Bread - Jill, Dave & Jon
Balsamic Chicken/Zucchini - John & Cindy

SATURDAY DINNER -
Roast Turkey - Dave, Jill & Jon
Stuffing - John & Cindy
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy - Chris & Julie
Roasted Maple Carrots - Dave, Jill & Jon
Fruit Salad - Dona & Charlie

SUNDAY BREAKFAST -
Orange & Apple Juice - Dona & Charlie
Omelets - Dave, Jill & Jon
Breads - John & Cindy
Pancakes - Chris & Julie

Once everyone has an opportunity to check the posts and sign up for items, we can fill in any holes in the menu.

Jill

Wow, you're just becoming a regular posting guru! And colors too .

Is this like three or four posts now that I haven't had to remind you how to do it?

Wheatons on Wheels back in town

Hi Sunliners!

I feel pretty guilty since we suggested a pot luck/group dining experience and have "bailed out" of your many discussions. Truth is, we've been ot camping at non wi-fi locations, and have been just plain irresponsible. (we've been out a total of 21 camping days thus far)

We're back, and thrilled at the enthusiasm toward social dining. We intend to participate fully and will digest your chats in an attempt to dovetail our contributions. All recommendations considered.

Thanks again for being a nutty bunch of campers and we look forward to meeting all of you. (we're in on Thursday - out Sunday) We'll post you back soon!

Chris and Julie

Good morning everyone!

Jill,
thank you for the offer of your turkey fryer. I will stop by my brother's house on my way home from work Wednesday morning to pick up his. Two may be better than just one though, since it looks like there will be at least 14 people to cook for. We've only made enough for 4 - 6 before.

Jill and JohnB,
since you are each supplying something for Friday's meal already, please don't feel obligated to contribute to the stew also. Although if anyone would like to help with the ingredients, it would be greatly appreciated. If others are helping with it, I'll start the list by bringing the sausage.

Jon,
Could the menu be a sticky so it doesn't get lost in all the posts. It is fairly easy to spot though with the blue print.
You asked if there was anything other than the production reports that I'd like you to bring from your museum. I would like to have a decal made for the tire cover but don't know what the original liked like or how big it was on a 1997 T2363--any idea? Charlie suggested we put the SOC logo and maybe "The Brown's, Toledo, OH" on it , but I think I'd like it to look like the original. I bought the one that Scotbarb posted here last summer, but it is the newer logo.

Chris and Julie,
Wow, 21 days camping already! We haven't been able to start yet this year--the M&G will be our first time out. Welcome back.

8 days and counting ,
Dona and Charlie

Help!

Hi Sunliners,
I know I'm not the best "techie" in the world, but I'm also not illiterate. But I have to tell you that I'm struggling to figure out how to put images on postings. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Chris and Julie

I didn't want to make it a sticky because there's just so much for the Buttonwood M&G. I did put a copy of it in the original post though, so it should be easy to spot there. It's in red below the map.

Are you wanting to know what the original tire cover logo looked like, or just a logo on the coach? It shouldn't matter because at that time they just took a plain white tire cover and stuck on an extra Solaris logo from the side (in the front). I have one like this with the Saturn logo I'll bring so you can get an idea what it looked like.

Hi Chris & Julie,

Have you looked at JohnB's instructional post?
JohnB's post should help you out.
First your pictures must first be stored someplace on the internet, like Photobucket or a similar site.
JohnB's instructions do a good job on describing how to include pictures in a post.

Hope this helps.
Hutch

Thanks Jon

Jon,

Thank you for the info on the tire cover. We bought a plain white one to put a decal on. I didn't know if the original said "Sunline Solaris" like the rock guard and back or "Solaris by Sunline Coach Company" like on the side or maybe even just "Sunline". Since it was just an extra like the one on the side, I can get the dimensions from that. I took a digital photo of it for the sign company to work from. Actually, that decal is the only one that isn't faded or peeling. Maybe we can have a new tire cover in time for the M&G .

Putting the menu in the original post works for me. Thank you.

I got a response from Michelle today. She doesn't have any record of how many people will be on each site, so we'll just have to guess.

Three days and counting.... We've posted the updates to the menu.

I went to Sam's Club and picked up a couple dozen eggs for the omelets, just bring whatever "fixings" (onion, mushrooms, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, peppers, hot sauce, etc.) you want to add to make your personalized omelet. I'll have some shredded cheese and ham, might even include some pineapple for an hawaiian omelet.

Looks like the weather will warm up toward the end of the week. Hope the predicted 30% chance of rain for Saturday heads north or south of us.

Looking forward to seeing everyone Thursday/Friday! We probably won't be pulling in until after dinner Thursday. We're celebrating my parents' 60th Anniversary with a luncheon on Thursday and can't miss that special occasion.

Jill,

Enjoy the luncheon and congratulations to your parents.

They're just calling for scattered thunderstorms Saturday, so hopefully we won't get any.

I was worried about the thunderstorms that were forecast for Thursday. That's changed now and rain/wind is predicted for Wednesday instead. I've only pulled the camper a few times and not confident enough to take it out in a storm yet--especially with high winds

I hope we don't get rain over the weekend. The first night we went out, there was a tornado warning overnight in the county next to us and at 1:30 am we were rocking! The next 2 times out, we had rain on one of the 3 days we were booked. Finally, on the 4th and last outing, it didn't rain but everyone on the loop we were on except us and my brother lost power (although ours dropped real low) when a snake got into the park's electrical box. I hope this year is better.

We finally got the water heater bypass switched back and dewinterized this morning. Looks like the Sunline made it through all the snow it was sitting in over the winter.

Safe travels to all and we'll see you in a few days,
Dona

Hi Folks

OK firming up the travel plans. Trying to find the infamous 10 foot over pass.

Can some one tell me where it is on Hallett road? Ideally someone computer savvy can stick a red arrow on the map (OK Jon here is the challenge.. )

But short of doing that which side of Hallett is the over pass on in relation to the entrance to Gateway?

Overpass is on the Left side (west end) or the right side (East end) of the entrance to Gateway?

Basically which way do we travel in on heading into Gatway Park on Hallet to miss it? Come in from the west or east end of Hallet?

While I really would like my camper to fit in my shed at 10 feet high, this is not the way I had in mind trimming it down….

Looking forward to seeing everyone real soon..

John

John,

From my understanding, the overpass is east of Gateway:

When I went down there, I came via Lake Wilson Road, and then turned right (west) onto Hallett. When I was at that corner, before I turned right, I took the following picture looking east. This sign would be on the westbound side just to the east of Lake Wilson Road:

I'm not sure if there's any other places you should avoid on the other roads. I'll be coming in through Albion and then heading South like I came before, and that was a clear trip.

BTW, for anyone wanting to look up an aerial map of the area, Google maps doesn't really zoom in at all. To get the same map that Mapquest uses, which you can even zoom in to see sites at Gateway, visit here

OK now I can see the problem. It is a RR crossing on the east side of the campground. That was exactly what I was looking for, where is this thing and what is it???? I never searched that far east so I could not find the problem. I was looking on the west end of camp, not on the east end of camp.

We are coming north on south Bunn Road to then go west on Hallett so we are a good ways west of the RR crossing problem.

Thanks Folks and special thanks to Sunline Fan for doing the map. A picture is worth a million words.....

Well I finished putting the wheels on the camper last night Had a bent leaf spring hanger that I never made it to fixing just yet. While I did not get the final fix in, ran out of time, she is 80% stiffer then it ever was. We are ready to roll now.

OK I'm getting camping'itis. Is it Friday yet??? Cindy going grocery shopping today.

Looking foward to meeting everyone.

John

J&A Lima Oh
M&G at Gateway this weekend

Hello;
I just found this group today, no time to get ready and camp on short notice. Perhaps if the wife want to we will try to drive up and meet some of you on saturday. We live near Lima, Ohio but I have a sister that lives at Harrison Lake in Ohio, I think that is 30-40 miles from Gateway.
Well perhaps we will see you saturday.
