Being retired and enjoying towing, I don't find the distance to Ives Run, for example, to be an obstacle. I am primarily a commercial campground user (the first-come/first served non reservation situation drives me nuts) ... so while I find Buttonwood to be a bit salty...not much more than other destination commercial parks. I suspect that if the site is moved from Buttonwood the fall-off in participation would be significant because:
-> Difficulty in assuring group " together" reservations, and
--> Difference in distance for many members, and
--->Increase in towing costs for some will outweigh savings, and
---->Just the loss of a tradition.
I do recognize the loss of our "special" situation at Buttonwood, but tend to think the alternatives tend to have their own unappreciated limitations for a "group appeal".
Just had to sound off. I'm not voting....and will attend wherever it's decided to be. I assume this will be a major source of discussion this coming weekend when most of us are together.
