Buttonwood M&G 2015 M&G Activities
We are hosting the Buttonwood M&G for 2015. June 5th through June 7th at Buttonwood Campground.
We would like to get some ideas on activities that the group would be interested in doing this year.
Thursday night we can do a dessert and coffee social for all that have arrived with a campfire to follow.
Anyone interested in having a snack food, appetizer, movie night on Friday instead of the ice cream social? You can bring your favorite snack food to pass and your beverage of choice to enjoy with the snack food and then enjoy a movie shown on the side of our camper which is adjacent to the gathering site. The movie can be voted on. Maybe the "Long Long Trailer" with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez.
Kayaking or biking on Saturday. Pot luck on Saturday night with the usual Chinese grab bag event. Bring an item for the Grab Bag event that is native to where you live. Campfire to follow.
Leftovers for dinner on Sunday for all those that are still there.
Please post your ideas here. So far we have 13 sites booked and 25 people attending. Get your reservations made soon. Sites go quickly.
Who has the banner that we have used for this event in the past? It is the large one that is usually hung on our gathering tent, can you please bring it to the event or contact me to arrange for it to be sent to me. No one seems to know where it is now, but it was used in 2012 and maybe 2013, but not in 2014.

Steve will lead the bike ride on SUNDAY morning at 10:00. (he goes on the kayaking trip on Saturday) I'll post a sign up thread in May. The route will be the same, and we'll leave from our site #69 at 10:00.
I can set up the table for the Give & Take swap after the Chineses Grab Bag Saturday night.

Thank you Hope and Richard for coordinating the Chinese Grab Bag event. This is always such a fun event.
We are still planning on movie night if there are no objections, details to follow. Any objections to changing up from Ice Cream on Friday night to appetizers, snacks, and beverages instead?

I guess my only question about Friday night would be to do with timing. If it's still an after dinner event, then a variety of desserts and snacks would be nice. Anyone who wanted to could still chose for ice cream to be their contribution. But the term appetizer makes me think of a pre dinner item, and we're usually looking for something sweet after dinner.

Pam,
Since we usually have desserts on Saturday night for the Potluck function, I was steering away from desserts. I was thinking more on the line of easy foods, such as cheese and crackers, veggies, dip, and snack type foods. Something to pick on while enjoying your beverage of choice and socializing with the group. Start about 7:00? After we can have a campfire and a movie.
I am hoping more people will chime in with their opinions here. Only a little over 3 months to go.

How does this sound? Thursday night 7pm we can gather at the tent for cake and coffee that we will provide, bring your own mug. Friday night 7pm "BYO" beverage of choice, dessert, or snack for Happy Hour at the tent. Movie will start at dusk. Popcorn will be provided, bring your own bowl.
Thank you to Roz and Mike who are taking charge of the Kayak trip for Saturday.

Hi Bobby & Kathy, I would be interested in volunteering to add a event for friday during the day..we could call it a work bee or a learning seminar lol down at site 307.we could provide breakfast and lunch for everyone.we would also supply all the materials and all that would be needed would be man power and extra tools lol.the women are also invited to come down to learn to either knit, read books or just relax and just enjoy watching their men work.plus this event would be free of charge to attend..we really don't want to be living down by the river in a van like Chris Farley once said lol.the mennonites can do a barn raising in 2 days, I believe this project could be done by 5pm friday.
