Reservations Process:
(Now Ongoing)

· Sunline Club Members are to call Kim above to reserve your site.
· Tell them you are with Sunline Club to get the correct rate per night, your dates for camping, request your site number, and give your contact phone number.

Cost: $40/night (Back in site) - $ (45/night (Pull through site) - See CG map below for sites.

The campground will accept credit cards and requires 1 night pre-paid in advance to hold the reservation. Make any checks payable to River Trail Campground and mail them to the campground address above. Note: Credit cards will incur a slight service charge; checks or cash will not.

Please post a reply here if you make your reservation with your dates, camper year/model, first names of those attending so we can update the attendee list.

NOTE: If you reserve a site and need to cancel, “please” call the camp and let them know so they can release your site to someone else. And, please post here on the forum so we know you will not be able to make it.

Members are welcome to come earlier or stay later. The official M & G will be Friday night, Saturday night, and leaving Sunday.

· All campsites have water, sewer, and 30 amp electric. 50 amp available if needed. (site-specific)
· Please make your reservation before August 1, 2023 if possible as we need to release unused campsites back to the camp. You can still reserve after August 1st, however you may not get a site next to the group.

Camp Check-In: Since we are in a group, we can check in early; it must be past 9:30 am Friday if your site is open from the night before. Check out: Sunday at 1:00 pm

Sunline Club Campsites
We have selected overnight camping area N. Sites N30 to N40 are being held by the campground for our group. Sunline members can still reserve any other open sites if we exceed these reserved sites. Sites N35, and N36 are pull-through sites;

Notes: The campground has requested on back-in sites to only back into the site with the camper. They want to avoid lawn damage from pulling in the opposite direction off the pad etc. Pull through sites can come in the opposite direction; hookups are on your camper's side.

After reviewing with all the attendees, we have decided to bring back the Mid West M&G tradition of food sharing that we had pre-Covid. I have included below the list of activities and items the attendees will bring. I have received feedback from some member's on what food items they will be bringing; others are still deciding.

Activities details:

Sign-up List: If you tell JohnB, he will mark down what you are bringing to share for the cracker barrel, breakfast, and potluck; it will be listed under each area.

Friday Night Cracker-barrel & campfire, 8:00 pm at Group site 32. A Friday night get-together to meet your Sunline friends. Bring a share-finger food snack; we will enjoy it with you!

JohnB/CindyB: Cheddar Cheese and crackers plate
J&A Lima Oh: Jalapeno poppers
PTHutch: Kettle corn
Jim44646: Peanuts in shell salted/unsalted
TeresaNyboer: Tuna salad croissant, chips
BenB: White chocolate cranberry cookies
Sunline Fan: Popcorn

Saturday Breakfast: Start cooking at 9:30 am and eat at 10:00 am. We will be doing baggie omelets at Group Site 32. Come at 9:30 am to start making your omelet. You make your omelet bag at the group site from ingredients brought by members except for the eggs you bring. The head boiler then cooks the entire group’s omelets all at once! 15 to 20 minutes later, the whole group sits down to dine. We will teach you how we do this if you have never done it before. If you can crack open an egg, you can do this!

We ask each camper member to bring their own two eggs or more per/person attending and their own eating utensils and breakfast beverages. We invite you to bring two group share items: one omelet ingredient and a breakfast food to share of your choice. Bring enough shared food for the members in your camper, plus 2 to 5 others. Items can be repeated within reason.

The camp host will provide all cooking bags. If eggs are not your thing, please still come and share our other breakfast foods with us.

JohnB/CindyB: Bacon and fruit salad
J&A Lima Oh: diced tomatoes and diced hot peppers
PTHutch: Banana bread or coffee cake
Kathyh: Black olives and cinnamon monkey bread
canoe2: Shredded cheese and blueberry coffee cake
Jim44646: Bacon and sausage, yellow, orange, and red cut up peppers.
TeresaNyboer: Indiana melons
BenB: Diced Ham and homemade granola
Sunline Fan: Shredded cheese

Saturday Dinner Potluck: Dining to start at 5:30 pm at the Group site 32 picnic tables. Bring a shared dish or dessert for the members in your camper, plus 2 to 5 others. Bring your own beverages and eating utensils. Bring enough for the members in your camper, plus 2 to 5 others. Items can be repeated within reason.

JohnB/CindyB: Peppers, sausage, and pasta dinner.
J&A Lima Oh: Corn casserole
PTHutch: Taco salad
canoe2: Sloppy Joe and rolls
kathyh: Cucumbers/onions in sour cream and deviled eggs
Jim44646: Scalloped potatoes with ham
TeresaNyboer: Indiana sweet corn
BenB: Cheesecake dessert

Saturday Night Campfire: Starting at 8:00 pm. Location: Group site 32. Bring your chair and gather around for a good camper folk yak session! If you have leftover cracker-barrel goodies and want to get rid of, this is the place! Bring them.

Rev. 9-7-23. Update food items by members.

Only 400 from home! Will pencil this in and seriously consider. Would allow some family visits on the route, vacation by relation? Love it!

Hi Stubborn1,

Vacation by relation, now that's funny. . We actually do a lot of vacation at the relatives location, and still do. Just not so much with the camper, although our sun and his wife do show up with a Sunline from time to time. Cindy's mom's has a lake house on the shores of Lake Erie. It has been in the family since 1941. We or shall I say, Cindy & I, have been going there since we before we were married, some 43 years ago to vacation. Our kids and now grandkids, go there too. Fun in the sand!

As time gets closer to the M & G, lets us know, it would good to meet you.

Thanks

John

Adding to my note in Feb 2023, about the desire to attend. Update, I had a total shoulder replacement this spring, so 90 days of really nothing I could do. Back to work and earning some income again. Will pencil next Sept on the calendar. If you are near the Smoky Mtns give us a shout. Looking forward to pictures. Be Well, Happy Camping

Hi Everyone,

After reviewing with all the attendees, we have decided to bring back the Mid West M&G tradition of food sharing that we had pre-Covid. Please look at the updated first and second replies in this post. It now lists the updated schedule and meal items.

We have sadly had a member cancel, apackoftwo (Joan), who has had other things come up and cannot make it. We will miss you and maybe see you next year.

I have updated the attendee list and campsites for KathyH and TeresaNyboer.

We are now in countdown mode until the festivities start on Friday evening.

Everyone have a safe trip to camp, and see you soon!

Thanks

John

Hi Teresa,

Wow, fresh sweet corn! Yummy!

I can help offer this up to help you cook them if you want/if it will help. I bringing qty. 2, large 20-quart pots with lids, a propane Camp Chef, twin 35K btu burner stove to heat water to cook the baggie omelets on Saturday morning. I am not sure how you planned to cook the ear corn, there are many ways, but if you want to boil them, you can borrow my stove and pots to help cook them.

As to how many ears, there will be 17 Sunliners coming. Sadly, while I love corn on the cob, my body no longer can handle corn on the cob, so this comes down to 16 people possibly. I'm not sure how many of them want corn and how many ears they want/can eat with all the other food we will have. No one ever goes away hungry from a Sunline potluck! Your offer is very gracious and we do not want to put a hardship on you having to acquire such a large quantity of fresh corn.

I will send you a PM on the qty.

Safe travels.

John
