2021 Midwest Meet & Greet - Oct. 1 - 3, 2021

The Mid-West Meet and Greet
When: Arrive Friday, October 1st – Departing Sunday, October 3rd, 2021 (2 nights)

Where:

RIVER TRAIL CAMPGROUND
7712 DEEP CUT ROAD
MENDON, OH 45862

WEBSITE: Home - Rivertrail Campground II

Phone: 419-795-1400 Ask for Kim

Reservations Process:
(Now Ongoing)
· Sunline Club Members are to call Kim above to reserve your site.
· Tell them you are with Sunline Club to get the correct rate per night, your dates for camping, request your site number, and give your contact phone number. The Sunline rate is $34/night for 2021.

Members are welcome to come earlier or stay later. The official M & G will be Friday night, Saturday night, and leaving Sunday.
· All campsites have water, sewer, and 30 amp electric. 50 amp available if needed. (site-specific)
· Please make your reservation before August 1, 2021 if possible as we need to release unused campsites back to the camp. You can still reserve after August 1st, however you may not get a site next to the group.

· Please post a reply here if you make your reservation with your dates, camper year/model, first names of those attending so we can update the attendee list.

Cost: $34/night (Back in site) - $ (ask for price)/night (Pull through site) - See CG map below for sites.
Camp Check-In: Since we are in a group, we can check in early; it must be past 9:30 am Friday if your site is open from the night before. Check out: Sunday at 1:00 pm

The campground will accept credit cards and requires 1 night pre-paid in advance to hold the reservation. Make any checks payable to River Trail Campground and mail to the campground address above.

Sunline Club Campsites
We have selected overnight camping area N. Sites N30 to N40 are being held by the campground for our group. If we exceed these reserved sites, Sunline members can still reserve any other open sites. Sites N35, N36 are pull through sites, check with the camp office for pull through site pricing.

As of 3-11-21, we have filled the pre-reserved sites sites N30 to N40 before our August 1st hold cutoff. There may still be open sites in the campground for those who still want to come. Sites N43 - N49 in red numbers behind us are pull throughs that are not reserved for our M & G, but still may be open if you call for a reservation. There are also other sites which may be open on the other side of the pond, marked in blue on the River Trail campground map.

Notes: The campground has requested on back-in sites to only back into the site with the camper. They want to avoid lawn damage from pulling in the opposite direction off the pad etc. Pull through sites can come in the opposite direction, just hookups are on the opposite side of your camper.

Covid19 requirements for the 2021 Mid-West M & G as of 9/23/21

This link will take you to the current (as of 9/23/21) Ohio Travel Guidance for COVID-19 which follows the CDC recommendations for individuals who are both; vaccinated and non vaccinated. https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/por...ravel-advisory

The latest CDC guidance for Activities and Gatherings can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...ing/index.html

With a group of our size, the odds exist there will be a mixture of individuals who are both vaccinated and non vaccinated.

- Inside all buildings/structures occupied with other people, a face-covering/mask should be worn.
- Outdoors, a 6ft. social distance should be maintained, and if the 6 ft social distance cannot be met, face masks should be worn, including at nightly campfires.
- Anyone exhibiting signs of Covid 19 should return or stay at home.

Changes to the M & G setup from years past to comply with the COVID rules.

- All campsite picnic tables will remain at each member's site versus moving many of them to the group site.
- Each camper couple/singles will cook & eat their meals by themselves.

There is no sharing of food. The Friday night cracker-barrel, potluck, and Sunday group breakfast are canceled.

Group site 32 will have large carport style canopies set up to create shade (if needed) for a small number of members to sit around during the day while maintaining 6ft social distance.

Members with EZ up, pop up style canopies are encouraged to bring them for shade and set them up at their site. Small numbers of members can visit at each location but must maintain the 6ft social distance or wear face masks.

During the day time, the goal is to have small visiting groups and move from small group to small group. Smaller group sizes make it easier to create social distance.

Evening campfires will be at the group site. A large circle of chairs (bring your own) will be created to meet the 6ft social distance.

These changes are all about being smart and safe and keeping everyone healthy with the COVID situation requirements.

Thank you for your understanding.

Added BenB to the signup list and site map.

Hopefully Covid will be gone by October and we can get some more of Sarah's famous Cranberry cookies to share.

Thanks Jim, I updated the list.

The weather as we know, is unpredictable. It could be 85 and swelter or 55 cloudy with wind, rain and hopefully not snow, but one never knows...

Hi Brenda,

As Steve noted, there are two M & G's already scheduled for 2021 if they are close to your area and dates.

As to how a M & G gets started and setup, a club member volunteers to be the organizer of the M & G.

They, and or others in the group, find a campground, a date, and create a post about the M & G. All you need then is to find at least one other person to camp with, and you have a Sunline M & G. The organizer is encouraged to delegate tasks to other members coming.

From past experience, try not to pick dates that conflict with other Sunline M & G's near by, approx. 6 hours drive apart or less. We have several members, myself included, that do travel long distances to attend other M & G's.

Let us know if you need help on any of this.

John

Hi Brenda,

All Sunline M&Gs are posted in the "Sunline Owners Meet & Greet" thread.

As JohnB mentioned, anyone can organized and coordinate a meet & greet.

It's like "if you plan it they will come"

If neither of the currently planned M&Gs in PA are close to you or are being held during a time period convenient for you, please feel free to organize your own M&G at a location and time frame that works for you.

If you're considering doing your own M&G, we all would be willing to help you with any M&G planning questions you may have.

Good luck and hope to see you at a M&G.
Hutch

Received info from SunlineFan and added him to the attendee list

Wow, we have three Sunline Moderators signed up to be at the same M & G! Have not had that in a while. I think the Buttonwood M & G in 2008 & 2009 still holds the record for this.

Good times ahead!

Hi Ben & Jodi,

I have updated the sign up list with your reservation. It will be great to meet both of you and your children. If the you or your kids are into fishing, the pond right in front of the M & G always has kids and adults fishing from the shore.

Since you are a fellow Ohioan, the M & G may be the only place you see this many Sunlines in the same campground all at once! Sunlines are in Ohio, but it seems rare to find them in the same campground at the same time. We are in the OH state park camps often and every time I see a fellow Sunliner, I try and chat with them. Maybe only once to twice a year.

We just got 4 to 8 inches of snow between yesterday and today (NW Delaware OH area). It is sort of blowing around all over and hard to tell what we have exactly. Sure glad when spring comes.

Looking forward to seeing you in the fall!

John

Hi Richard,

Did you make your reservations for the M & G or another campout?

If for the M & G, what site did you get and what nights are you camping?
