Hope is willing to run a Chinese Grab Bag. I agree we’ll need to wait and see if there are enough people interested.

Everyone...…
It is with a heavy heart that I'm cancelling attendance at this year's Buttonwood Meet-n-Greet. Much as I dislike it, I'm pretty well home-bound due to my potential susceptibility to Covid-19 and some related medical concerns....which won't be eliminated by early June. Although Buttonwood has closed 'till April 6th, I've left a withdrawal notice to them on their telephone recording device, and asked them to keep my deposit as a pay-it-forward donation.
Be careful out there.
Frank

Hi Frank,
Thanks for posting and fully understand. I think all of us are wondering if Buttonwood will come off this year or not. Time will tell. Hopefully things will be back to some pseudo normality that we can attend.
A lot of us fall in the " high risk" category, including Mary and myself, so I hate to say it but if things don't improve significantly by the end of May, I don't think you'll be the only one cancelling.
Please keep us posted on if you hear back from Buttonwood and what they have to say.
Stay home and stay healthy.

Buttonwood Opening Date Adjustment & Announcement
FYI - announcement on Buttonwoods web page.
************************************************** ************
New Opening Date: April 30th
Buttonwood Campground is currently planning to open for the season on April 30th, 2020. Two weeks prior to that date, we will reassess the situation and respond accordingly (if needed) to prevent further spreading of COVID-19. We are carefully monitoring the pandemic and are in regular contact with health agencies for information and guidance. Please read our full update for additional information.
************************************************** ***********
Read Buttonwood's full announcement here.
************************************************** ***********
I plan to do a reassessment of the SOC Buttonwood M&G Mid-May to determine the safety and applicability of holding it this year.
Any attendees input on this subject is always welcome and greatly appreciated.
Thanks

We will be there. Depending on the condition of life at that time, we may add a day on either side.
Sorry you won't be there Frank, but please take care of yourself.

Frank I was looking forward to seeing but I am also considering where Barb and I will be at Buttonwood this year. So much uncertainty this year.

Just saw on Facebook that Buttonwood has put their opening day off “for the foreseeable future.” Guess we need to keep an eye on their website or Facebook page.

Thanks for posting. Please keep us updated if you see any additional updates.
I do plan to check around mid to late May to see if there's any changes.

I was informed that Buttonwood posted information on opening and camping / group gathering restrictions on their Facebook page.
Here's a link to Buttonwood's Full Announcement on their web page.
Here's an abbreviated / basic information contained in their announcement:
" Buttonwood will be opening but all the rules prohibit any interaction with anyone not registered at your site. No gatherings at all."
The " no interaction with anyone on another site" and " no gatherings" directives put a damper on any potential M&G activities.
I've made a post for the 2021 Buttonwood M&G currently scheduled for June 11 - 13, 2021 for anyone that may be considering cancelling this years reservation, due to these restrictions.
The 2021 Buttonwood M&G post will provide you with the information on the 2021 Buttonwood M&G if you want to make a reservation for next year's M&G and try to transfer your deposit to your 2021 reservation.
I fully understand if any of the attendees decide to cancel their reservation for this year's Buttonwood M&G. It wouldn't be much of a M&G, but we need to abide by Buttonwood restrictions for the safety of others.
Please post any cancellations and/or 2021 reservations if you chose to do that.
It's difficult times that require hard decisions to be made but the safety of everyone is of the utmost importance.
Please, everyone stay safe and stay healthy.
Tom & Mary

You still have time to consider another location instead of cancelling?

From what I read, they are saying if the restrictions are still in place 14 days before your reservation you can cancel and get a full refund or a raincheck or apply your deposit to next year. You can do this from 14 days up to 1 day before your reservation.
Since a lot can change in the next 6 weeks, we are going to wait and see what happens. Pa is going to start lifting a lot of restrictions starting May 8th. This will be done in groups of counties. Buttonwood falls in the south-central group. That group has fared pretty well compared to the eastern counties. So there is hope restrictions will be eased for Buttonwood before June.

I don't think considering another location would make any difference.
I believe PA State Parks are closed thru at least May 15th. NYS SP remain closed.
Here in WNY, some counties have closed all private campgrounds.
And the counties that are allowing campgrounds to open May 1st have the same restriction as Buttonwood.
Point being, at this time, I would expect every campground that is open to have the same restriction.

Mike,
Thanks for posting additional information.
We also plan to wait until Mid to Late May before making a decision.

Steve and I have decided to cancel. While things may improve by then we’re just going to play it safe. Hopefully we’ll see everyone at one of the future meet and greets when all this is behind us.

Pam,
Thanks for posting. I've updated the attendee list in the OP.
Did Buttonwood give you any problems with getting a refund?

I had to pay their $10 cancellation fee, which I thought should have been waived given the circumstances, but I didn’t question them, and there was no problem. Hope and Richard also just cancelled.

Just announced on WGAL Channel 8: Juniata County where Buttonwood is located moves into the Yellow Phase Friday May 22. Yellow Phase lifts the Stay at Home order and permits gatherings of up to 25 people with precautions. That means we should be able to congregate in small groups to visit! I guess we'll see if Buttonwood permits that.
Ready to get our camp on!!!

Hi Brad,
Thanks for posting. That's good news.
Does PA's Yellow Phase still require wearing of face masks and maintaining social distancing?
As a group, I would propose that we come to some agreement among the attendees
1. if and what precautions we feel comfortable in maintaining
and
2 what activities we want to do and/or not do.
We're looking forward see you and the girls and everyone else.
