2018 Buttonwood M&G Events

This post is to start a discussion on the events people would like to do at Buttonwood and to entertain volunteers to help coordinate and run the events.

Please reply to this post if you would like to volunteer to coordinate & run an event or if you have an additional event you would like to plan and run.

Here's a list of possible events that have been done at past Buttonwood gatherings:

NOTE: All events are at the Group Tent Area unless otherwise specified

Friday

7:30pm Friday Gathering to say hello. - Hutch & Mary Coordinators
BYO - Bring Your Own Drinks and Bring a Desert to Share.

Dusk - Camp Fire - Mike is providing Fire Wood again this year

Saturday

Noon - River Trip - Mike Coordinator
Will do our own shuttle - See Post #13 on Page 2 of this thread for more info

1pm - UNO Tournament - Barbara & Rich Coordinators.

6pm - Pot Luck Dinner - Hutch & Mary Coordinators

After Dinner - Give & Take Table SEE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW (i.e., See Post #12 on Page 2 of this thread for more info) - Pam Coordinator
Please pick up any items not taken by 11pm

After Dinner - Grab Bag Gift Exchange - Hope Coordinator
See the linked posted for details & rules.

Dusk - Camp Fire - Mike is providing Fire Wood again this year

Sunday

10am - Bike Ride - Steve Coordinator / Leader.
Meet at the Group Tent Area

Please let me know if anyone is interested in coordinating any of these events or if you have an additional event you would like to plan and coordiante.

Steve will lead the bike ride Sunday morning as always.
Give and take table kind of runs itself, so you can put me down for that LOL

Thanks for helping out. What time does Steve want to start the Bike Ride and I'll update the OP.

Usual time of 10:00. I guess since we moved to the river side they should leave from the group tent this year.

Give and Take Table instructions -
This is a way to rid yourself of those no longer needed but still useful items. You can bring camping items, but also anything else you think someone may be able to use. We’ve had books, CDs, tools, anything you’d find at a yard sale. (no clothing please) After the pot luck we all run back to our trailers and fetch our donations for the table. Then the taking begins. It’s all free. You just help yourself.
Please return to the table by 11:00 that same night to collect anything that belongs to you that hasn’t been taken. (usually the table is bare!)

Anyone interested in the river trip should meet at the tent by noon. We will leave from there. If anyone wants more info stop by site #54 and ask. Also you can let me know on Friday night.

Epilog....

Another great time with old and newer friends. Thank you, everyone. Both my son and I really enjoyed ourselves(mostly, that is...excluding 7-11 AM's rain today) . Now registered for site 87 for Friday night thru noon Sunday next year.

Thanks to everyone that came to the 2018 Buttonwood M&G and made it another successful one.

Thanks to:
Mike & Roz for coordinating the river trip and bringing the fire wood (& Roz for starting the fire every night).

Rich, Barb, & Frank for coordinating the Uno Torny and Kathy - congratulations for wining it.

Pam for coordinating the Give & Take table

and

Hope for once again a fantastic job at being the MC of the Grab Bag event.

And finally for everyone that showed up and provided the great food for the pot luck dinner.

I will be posting a sign-up soon from the 2019 Buttonwood M&G to be held June 7 - 9, 2019
and a Post for the new Ives Run M&G to be held July 19 - 21, 2019.

Hope everyone has a good summer and a fun and safe rest of the camping season.
