Kathy & Leo, have you ever entered a duck in the CAPPY Duck Derby? Sounds like fun; especially at the chance to win $100,000.00! I see it's set for Sept. 4th. $5/duck or $20/for a flock of 5. Do you know if you can "adopt" a duck the day of the race, or is it best to donate online prior to the race? Thanks for any info. Sheri

We have always done it the day of the "drop"......the drop ducks into the steam and the first one to the finish line wins......it is a simple rubber duck that floats down the river!

OK, I searched high & low for my Sunline mini-notebook w/names/addresses/phone #'s, to no avail. Can someone PLEASE message me w/Steve & Diana's last name; and IF POSSIBLE, phone number? I'm really getting concerned b/c both Paul & I messaged Steve on the Sunline site, and no response. Want to make sure our Chairman is healthy, happy and touch base. Thanks for your help. Sheri & Paul

Hello all, everything is fine. We just returned home last nite from Golden Beach, we were there since the 7th of August. We had no internet service at the campground. We also had 4 of our grandkids with us and that made it hard to get away to find internet service.
We're getting back into the swing of normal life and have turned our attention to the Meet & Greet at Nick's Lake.
Paul and Sherri - it's great to hear from you and love all your ideas. We look forward to working with you on this event. Let us know what we can do. We plan to come up early Thursday.
Steve and Diana

So happy to hear from Steve & Diana. They were off camping with the Grands for several weeks! We will be doing the Grab Bag/Chinese Auction. Still contemplating whether it will be Friday night or Saturday night. Steve will preside over it. Gifts to be placed in brown paper bags (if possible) so they all look similarly and spend no more than $15 on a gift. Who's interested?

Also, I had mentioned a DVD swap table. Steve suggested we have a table for any items we may have that could go to another camper. Great Idea! So we will set up an area/table where anyone can place items they no longer want/need for others to take and enjoy.

Paul and I are "novice" kayakers. Enjoyed it last year on Nick's Lake; they rent from the Beach if others are novices. For those not going Moose River expedition on Saturday or not interested in kayaking, we have ring toss, "family friendly Jarts" (REAL Jarts, I'm banned), and a dart board (that, I'm OK). Could go up to the top of Mt. McCauley for a picnic & pics. Asking the non-kayaking Moose River peeps what would you like to do on Saturday. I know Vic & Mir have a few things up their sleeves too. Looking forward to a wonderful time with all. Want EVERYONE to have a fantabulous time. : )

If anyone wants to try out kayaks, we have the site "on" the lake on loop C (path to the lake of 25 steps or so) so you can launch from right there. We have two very stable kayaks, adult life vests, etc. We'd love to let folks try them out. Obviously we will have them on Moose River on Sat. but any other time, just let us know and we'll set you up !

Wondering if anyone has folding tables for the Pot Luck Dinner Saturday to put the food on? I'll ask if the campground can provide us a couple of additional picnic tables, but if not we'll pull a couple from nearby sites for the evening.
