Hi Jim,

If you have room in the truck, having the 2nd canopy may be a good thing if we need it. I have not yet heard if Jack can bring his he used last year.

On lanterns, I have one and if you have 1, that is 2 and should be enough.

Hi everyone!

We are in count down mode now

We are planing to arrive mid afternoon Friday and would like to extend a dinner invitation for Friday night with anyone else who would like to join us. We all bring our own meals, just dine together and start the fellowship early.

Timing would be 5:30pm or thereabouts for those who can make it.

Those who are arriving later, we kick off the M & G weekend with cracker barrel Friday at 8:00pm at the group campfire site A12.

Let me know.

Thanks

John

Hi, JohnB, and Everybody,

Letting you all know that we will be checking into the campground on Thursday afternoon. We'll be on hand as a "sort-of" welcoming committee. We also plan on staying over Sunday night, for a Monday morning departure.

Looking forward to seeing you all, and looking forward to Friday evening's dinner.

See you there.

Great!!! I think we are "covered" on the canopy's... And looking at the forecast for Mendon, it is sort of 50/50 we may have some showers. Will keep watching.

Jack, No need right now to bring the big one, we have 4 small ones in the works. So all is good on the canopy's Last year we had 2 small ones and my sons big one but it is in the state of needing new parts...

Looks like we will have several for dinner on Friday.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting John & Janis our new friends.

Thanks

John and Cindy

It sounds like we will "have enough" and "more than enough" wood once again this year.

Since Jack can bring some, I will leave my scrap lumber wood at home I was going to throw in.... Don't think we will need "more and more than enough" fire wood. If it is as hot as it was yesterday may not need "much"

Getting excited to get back out camping. Been tied up this year big time...

See you all soon.

John

We all arrived safe. We had a fun but wet weekend. Everyone took the rain in stride to the point it was getting funny.
We met a new Sunline couple. Nice to meet you.
Welcome John and Janis. Hope the rain didn't discourage you.

Jim;
I am so sorry about forgetting to tell you about the Bluelick underpass, I forgot it as ours goes thru it and yours may too but would want someone watching the first time, it is a round underpass like a short tunnel.

Denny and I were talking about all of us that can next year arriving on Wednesday and going on a road trip Thursday, leave in the morning, go to Greenville and see the Kitchen-aid experience, then to the Bicycle museum in New Bremen, and end the day with a meal at Behn's restaurant on lake Saint Marys, before back to camp. Then if we want we can go to Deep Cut park on Friday and in to Saint Marys to look-see shopping trip, they have a lot of antique and what not shops.

Denny
You were asking about natural Lakes in Ohio.
The state of Ohio has hundreds of lakes, but only 114 are classified as "natural.", Aurora Pond is the largest natural lake in Ohio, despite the fact its name incorporates the word "pond." Located in Portage County, it has 345 acres of surface water.
just FYI, but if you check, it does have a dam as it was dammed to make it deeper for a feeder for the canal system.

Hoping ya'll had a safe trip home, we will see ya'll next year.
Jack & Angela.

Hello Again all.
If any one gets past Clinton Lake Camping, 4990 E Township Road 122, Republic, OH 44867, please take a good look and we can discuss it next year as a possible place to move our meet & greet to, I think it would be more centrally located for all of us that were here this year, just a place to take a look at, and discuss next year.

Hello, Everyone: Dates for Next Year

Firstly, we'd like to echo Jack and Jim's welcome to John-n-Janis. It was great to have you, and looking forward to next year.

Speaking of next year, before we departed River Trails, I spoke with Carol, the owner, about next year, and she has us penciled in for 2016. The dates will be June 10, 11 and 12, officially. She will hold the entire triangle of sites for us until about a month before the event. At that point, we should talk to her about how many we might want to hold for the June M & G.

To emphasize what Jack has said, yes, some of us might arrive mid-week to engage in some extracurricular activities, a road trip. However, the OFFICIAL dates of the M & G are as stated above.

Note to Jim: rest assured that the rain dancing shoes have been retired. The garbage man hauled them off yesterday !

Hi All,

Sorry this took a bit to get back to all of you. Been a little crazy here the last few days. We made it home safe and sound.

We had a great time again this year. And made great new friends with John and Janis.

Here is our Saturday night campfire group picture just before the rain chased us away....

That campfire was amazing how it could burn through that 30 minute mini monsoon and be a blazing away. Cindy said, gee look we can have campfire just looking out the window with the rain pouring down...

Looking forward to next year.

Thanks again

John and Cindy

About 1:00AM after even more rain I was out walking around in ankle deep water. Not a blade of grass to be seen (the whole campground was a lake), and low and behold that campfire rekindled and was blazing away. The fire ring was completely surrounded by water. Like a floating fire.
