2009 WNY M&G Sign-Up

When: - Friday, September 11th – Sunday, September 13th, 2009

Southwoods RV Resort

DO NOT use the on-line reservation feature of their web site

Sites: Southwoods has said that they would hold sites M1-M14, C5-C9, C12 & C13 for us until 1 week prior to our M&G.
They are also holding site C8 as our gathering / food site if we want it
Sites M1-M10 back up to sites C5-C9 and you can easily walk between these sites, so they will make a good group area.

DO NOT use the on-line reservation because the sites identified above may not available via on-line reservation.

Update 08/10/09:
I’ve reserve site C8 as our a group gathering site to eat & for nightly camp fires.
With 11 sites currently signed up, the shared cost for this additional site will be $4.90 each (less if more people sign up).

Site Cost: $30 / night; $27/night with Good Sam card
The campground is a Good Sam Park and honors the Good Sam Discount. You will need to inform them you are a Good Sam member at time of reservation and present your card at time of check in to receive the Good Sam discount.

When you make your reservation, please let them know you are with the Sunline Owners Club. They will make every attempt to group us together.

Tentative Activities:

Saturday Pot-Luck Dinner Details to be posted at a later date.

Nightly Camp Fires Local attendees, please bring firewood to share if you have it. I'll be bringing some.

I just talked with Sue, owner of Southwoods, she has reserved sites M1-M14, C5-C9, C12 & C13 for us and will be holding site C7 as our gathering / food site if we want it.

She also informed me that the price for these sites are $30 / night; $27/night with Good Sam card. I've corrected the site cost in the OP.

All sites are full hook-up, 30Amp sites.

They do require a 1 nights deposit (i.e., $30) which can be made by mailing them a check or calling and putting it on your charge card - they accept VISA.

H’mm I take it we have now made it to, schedule it and they will come…. WOW!!!!

This is a very doable M & G for us on a long weekend. 370 miles one way. Timing though may be a problem.

We are driving right past the Batavia exit on the way to the Adirondack M & G the following weekend camping along the way in NY heading east and then north.

Have to go talk to the better half if we can flip weeks around before and after the Adirondack M & G. We are at Nick’s Lake on the 23rd thru the 28th

There would not of been a chance you typed the date wrong and it is Sept 18 in place of 11? What’s a 1 and a 8 amongst campers friends…..

WOW, that would be great if you and Cindy could come, hopefully you can work it out.

I intentionally tried to stay away from the week before the ADK M&G figuring that would be too much. But I can see that probably would have been better for you. Sorry

Hope you can figure out a way you can make to both.

Hutch, no worries. I figured you did that 2 weeks before the M & G up north so it was not be a run in with it. Makes very good sense. We are camping 3 weekends in a row and the time in-between regardless of when we start. Just have to figure out if we can flip a week earlier. We are heading to the Lower Hudson Valley area south of Albany to see mom and I have to work that in. Was planning on doing on the way home after Nicks Lake, but may do it before Nicks lake. Actually we needed a pit stop to stay over for a night in western NY and you may have found us a campground. Thanks.

Still contemplating. Be back soon.

Sue of Southwoods has asked everyone that will be making reservations for the SOC WNY M&G to call the campground instead of using their on-line reservation feature.

The reason for NOT reserving via on-line are.
1. Since she's reserved the sites for us, they are no longer available via the on-line reservation feature.
2. There's an additional charge the on-line service provider charges that you will be able to avoid if you call the campground.
3. She can ensure all SOC members attending the M&G are located on the proper sites and charged the correct price.

The campground's phone number is (585) 548-9002.

However, if you call before May 1st (the campground doesn't open until May 1st),
Call (585) 872-6629 and ask for Sue.

For those that have already made reservations via the on-line feature, I believe Sue has taken care of you, but you may want to call her to confirm this and find out what site she's placed you on.

Gail and I want to attend, but we can't know for sure until we get back from ADK around August 26th. Got a lot going on and a new grandson due in mid-September. We'll just have to sit tight for the moment.
