2009 Buttonwood M&G T-Shirt Design Contest

Folks.....

Having worn my 2008 commerative Buttonwood T-shirt (Mingling in Mexico) to a coffee breakfast this AM.....I suddenly realized that I hadn't heard anything about plans for a slogan, design contest, or T-shirt for next year.

The entire content/debate/ development process (and the shirts themselves) ..... just too much of a hoot not to repeat (I hope readers are out there nodding).

Hutch...... Jon...... Anyone with word on this?

Frank

Frank,

I've heard nothing. Sounds like a good time to start the discussion!

Ok, if it’s time to start next year's Buttonwood M&G T-Shirt design contest, let’s get it started.

Here are the contest rules:
1. Any one can submit a design, by posting a picture of their design as a reply to this topic.
2. Designs should be limited to 7 colors or less.
3. Design to be included in the voting poll will be approved by Mike & Roz (aka 264SRinPA) based on their ability to reproduce the design.
4. I will post all approved designs in a separate voting poll post for club members to vote for the final design.
5. Dead line for design submittals will be January 01, 2009.

Schedule for 2009 Buttonwood M&G T-Shirt Design Contest & Ordering.
August 2008 – December 2008Submittal of 2009 Buttonwood M&G T-Shirt Designs
Dead line to submit designs is January 01, 2009

January 2009 – February 2009Voting on 2009 Buttonwood M&G T-Shirt Designs
Voting will end March 01, 2009

March 2009 – April 2009Ordering of 2009 Buttonwood M&G T-Shirts
Dead line to place an order will be May 01, 2009

Final cost of 2009 Buttonwood M&G T-Shirts will be depended on winning design.

Ok - it's up to everyone else to come up with their design submittals.
Good luck and have fun.

Hutch

P.S. Here’s my submittal (front to stay the same as last year (i.e., SOC Logo) – back to look like):

For people that can't remember or know what the front design of last year's T-Shirt was, here it is:

Great idea to have a contest, then a vote. I can't wait to see what people come up with.

Now Frank

Actually, Pam and I had bounced around the idea of doing a T-Shirt design contest a few weeks ago. You just got the ball rolling

Here's another entry Another member & I were discussing how we'd like something a little funky for 2009, and how we really like the Life Is Good TShirts. And Steve has some awsome and really different TShirts from some adventure races he's done that he loves. Naturally none of us had a clue how to put an idea together on the computer. I happened to mention all this to Hutch, who quickly stepped in as design consultant and computer aide. So, this is very much a cooperative effort.

I was wondering the same thing. We could put "at Buttonwood" right under life is good - as MM suggests - and I kinda like the whole rhyming thing But if it's not really an issue then I'd say leave it as is.

The specific words are not trade marked.
But the company name, as shown at the top left of their web site Life Is Good is a registered trade mark.

There’s less than a month remaining for you to enter your design for the 2009 Buttonwood M&G T-Shirt Design contest.

All right, those of us not artistically inclined enough to be able to offer a submission would like to know.....

What've we got to choose from? I personally like the Life is Good one... it's funny....

Only 152 (or 151) more days, and 5 or so hours, before departure for Mexico, PA baby! Yeah!

Hi Greg,

I've sent an email to 264SRinPA (aka Mike & Roz), since they'll be doing the artwork and making the T-Shirts, to see if the 3 designs are do-able and if they can provide a WAG on costs of the different designs.

I'm waiting for their reply before creating a vote topic to make sure there's no problems with creating a T-Shirt with any of the designs and to identify if there's a cost difference between the various designs. Just so people have all the facts.

As soon as I get a reply from them, I’ll be posting the vote topic.

Sorry for the delay.
Hutch

Delay? There's no delay--- I am just suffering from the worst case of cabin fever I've EVER had.

I'm going completely bonkers wanting to go, go, go but without the weather to do anything but wish, wish, wish.....

We're also in the process of packing to move to another apartment, and that means that all my free time is going to be spent here in the house anyway....

enough whining from me though, I gotta go do anything!

Greg
