It wouldn't have been the longest drive, Fuzzy and I are in VA right now. But our aircon is still broken so we're not going to make it after all.

Poor Man Campin'
2007 Eastern M&G Wrap-up

Didn't know if I should start a new topic or not... I'll let the Moderator decide if this needs moved.

To all who attended the 2007 Eastern M&G:

Thank you! I had a fantastic time! Even though I was without my family, I never felt alone. It was a pleasure to meet all of you. I had some very good conversations, and really enjoyed looking at the different models that Sunline produced. I envision that as the M&G grows larger, that it will turn into a Sunline RV Show. I would have liked more time to talk to everyone, but it gives me something to look forward to for the next one.

To those who couldn't make it:

I wish you the best of luck in attending one in the future. It was friendliest group of people that you may ever meet! There are tentative plans for one next year at the same campground (Buttonwood), possibly in June 2008. Someone else will post the details later.

Safe travels and Happy Camping to all!

-Brad

Brad,

I has been a great time. I'd sure love to see at least 25 units show up next year. This year we had 10 Sunlines total. I was so surprised of how friendly this group of people is and we all work so well together. From dinner last night to breakfast this morning, everyone just pitched in and it all worked like clockwork. For the few of us left today, we pooled all our leftovers from last night and had a wonderful dinner under Tom & Mary's awning due to the pouring rain. It was amazing to go from sweating like crazy yesterday to actually having to put on jackets this evening.

Please try to make it next year and if you can't camp, at least stop by. You know first hand that we had plenty of food to go around and could have a lot of guests without a problem. Hopefully next year will be a little cooler so people aren't afraid to eat a lot!

Jon

Sue & I also had a wonderful time with everyone. It is surprising how a brand of TT could bring so many people from so many different places and lifestyles together for a weekend of fun and excitement. If it were not for Sunline, this club & Katheryn (SO SORRY YOU COULD NOT MAKE IT), we would be void of the knowledge we learned this weekend. Jon, your collection is wonderful and we really enjoyed seeing it. Thank you for sharing with us. Dinner and breakfast.........what can I say except we need a recipe thread. All the critters got along. It was darn near a perfect weekend, can't wait till next year. I am so glad we got to meet everyone and share a little of our lives together...........Marshall & Sue

Folks....

Just a GREAT weekend with everyone. I'll spare everyone my tendency to be long-winded by just saying "DITTO!" to the others' comments, compliments, and gratitude.

This is a good time to make reservations for next year....get it on the calendar!

Can’t add much more. What a fantastic week-end and great group of people.

Mary and I left feeling like we had just made life long friends with everyone there. We had so much fun, we had to stay an extra day.

Thanks so much to Kathryn for starting this and doing all the work to set it up. We’re so sorry you weren’t able to make it. And AprilWhine, we missed you guys also.

But there’s always next year.
So get your reservations in early.

FYI - Buttonwood is having a big event the week-end we chose for next year, so if you reserve early, it will assure we’re all together again like this year. The owners said they’re going to try and save the sites in the same area as we were this year for next year.
See the 2008 Eastern M&G post.

To all at the 2007 Meet & Greet

Barbara and I had a wonderful time. It was great to spend the week end with so many nice Sunline owners. I would like to offer a special thanks to Jon who was willing to come so far to share his vast knowledge of Sunline's as well as all Sunline neat stuff he has.

I am going to call Buttonwood tomorrow to make resevations.

Rich

JoLynne and I had a great weekend meeting you all. As it has been said previously there was a common bond of all these people and that was Sunline. Special thanks to Jon for his Sunline colection display, Jon's mom, and dad, Jill and Dave for that gourmet omlette breakfast.
Marshal and Sue for the gift bag, and Pat and Tom for displaying their great mods. We truly had a great time. We too will be calling tomorrow to make reservations for next year.
Regards,
Jay

After our Virgin Run at a Meet & Greet, I can honestly say that Cindy and I are hooked. We both talked about changing our plans from heading towards Alaska next summer to make sure we can be on the East Coast for next years get together.

Thanks to Marshall & Sue for the Gift Bag, Jon for bringing his amazing collection with him, Mary & Tom for the awning last night, Jay for the wee nip of that fantastic Bourbon and Dave and Jill for the great omelets

I know I missed a bunch, but man, this post would go for days if I was to try and thank everyone. All in all, we had a blast, so much so that we stayed an extra day, and are still only a few hours from there We got lost leaving and looking at those covered bridges, and ended up just wandering around the back roads all day looking at cool ol' Amish Farms and the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside.

Thanks for a great weekend, and make sure we plan a good day of kayaking next year. Steve and Pam can bring their new kayaks for everyone to see Maybe Jay and Jolynne will have one of those new Sunlines like they looked at too. I think this weekend was a little expensive for a few of us...LOL

Well Pat, if only you had that GPS, you wouldn't have gotten lost!!!!

We got home around 8:45 this evening after taking Hutch's suggestion of the backroads to go around that big hill. We all appreciated the nice easy way to go, even if it did take us a little out of the way. Also, I spotted four Sunline's along that trip, compared to ZERO on our way down. One was a '76 or '77 12.5 MC just off the side of 322/22 just before the Millersburg exit. Since that's like really close to Buttonwood, I'll have to check that out next year. It was stuck in someone's backyard with two other TT's, but not hidden too far back. It was even complete with the rear plastic logo like I had on the table Saturday night (I didn't see the front).

We had no (major) issues to report, but I think our MH needs something to cure its Sunline envy! We had a problem on 80 in PA with our docking lights (small lights on side of coach) flashing. We had that same problem last year and figured it was from going through so much rain at the time. We pulled over at a rest area and my dad determined it to be the condensation from the dash AC dripping onto a couple of relays. He popped them out for now and it fixed the problem. We didn't seem to have anything else go out, so all is well. We never use the security system on it (which flashes those lights), so I don't care if we replace those relays or not. Later on, we pulled over to switch drivers and I found the front passenger seat wouldn't adjust and the power foot rest wouldn't go up. Some things are just better left manual! Oh, I almost forgot, while packing up, we folded up the one folding chair at the kitchen table and the seat cushion fell off (screws stripped). Can't beat Sunline quality!!!!!!

Tom,

Thanks for reminding me. If Kathryn didn't create this idea up in the first place and start coordinating the whole thing, it would have never happened. We all owe her a huge thank you for this weekend. Hopefully she can make it next year.

Mary and I also want to thank Marshall and Sue for the Sunline bag, that was way too kind of you guys.

And Jill and Dave for omelets in a bag, what a cool idea. Mary and I are going to share that at the Fall M&G.

And everyone for the fantastic food at the pot luck dinner, unbelievable the spread we had.

Also, you guys have really gotten Mary hooked on the forum. I think she’s been sitting in front of the computer since we got home reading everything.

You’ve created a maniac, she’s telling me "you have to post this and say that". And I’m telling her, "you have to become a member so your can do your own posts".

Thanks again to everyone for such a wonderful and enjoyable week-end.

Hutch

Hutch, that is just so ironic, I too will have to watch the DW comments I make because JoLynne is taking more of an interest in the forum also.
It was a great time for us.

Oh gosh, lets not create a recipes forum...they'll be on all the time!!!! (Uh oh, I here a yes, yes, yes over my shoulder, no joke!!)

Actually, my mom would probably go on more if she didn't have so much to constantly do, like getting the cottage ready to go back to its foundation. We've got a list of 9 repairs that have to be made before the weekend. Fortunately, they're small things. See, if only she had a Sunline, then she would have a little free time!

We did it ! Did alot of kayak research and running around looking at them this week. I picked up a Wilderness Systems Pamlico 145 tandem this morning at EMS in Lancaster. (they're having a sale if anyone is interested) I think we sat in more kayaks than we did on sofas when we were furnishing the house! Pat is right, the Wilderness seat is so much more comfortable than any of the others. We went with the tandem that can convert to a single...me being not so atheltic and all
Marshall & Sue - the Sunline bag is being put to good use. It is packed with all the maps and brochures we need for our upcoming trip to Virginia
Maybe what we need is a toy hauler...& Lee has 2 left...
Thanks again everyone, for a great time last weekend !
