What's your interior decor?
Being a couple who like being near water (myself being a Boatnerd, a person who watches ships), we went with a nautical theme. DW went nuts and got matching bed items and floor mats. Of course the usual nicknacks that take up counter space, but I have to let her be her (newlyweds). I mounted some framed pictures on the wall using the 3M Command mounting strips with the Velcro face. Seem to hold pretty good. On another post. I saw how a camper modified the cabinet doors to get a larger opening. It's got me thinking about doing that.
Anyone out there got any ideas how to make shelves in the bedroom closets? I'm not great in woodworking but thinking of ways to mount the shelves without destroying the cabinet. Thanks in advance.
Happy camping
Bobo

Bobo as soon as DH is finished watching the race, I'll ask him what type of wood he used. - Oh wait are you talking about the closet over the bed or the shirt closets NEXT to the bed.
He modifed the shirt closet in our 1950 - he build a wood frame for the year with holes in the wood and used 2 separate pcs for the front of the wall of the cabinet with marching holes....we then went to the local hardware store and bought those pins that push into the holes for holding the shelves.....he carefully cut the shelves and presto - done.....trust me he is not a carpenter by any means but it looked great and worked out well for his clothes.
He just said he thought the wood was 1/2" x 1/2" I have to look for the thread on how to post photos, once I find it I'll try to post some.

OK so I'm going to try to post the links to the shirt closet frame photos....
You can see where we marked the "spacing and drilled holes ALMSOT thru the wood.
The "frame" was used on the back of the closet and the two single pcs. where used on the inside front of the cabinet - we used a screw - being careful not to drill thru....to hold the front pcs in...DH thought it would be more secure. HOWEVER once you put the "clips" in place and place the shelf onto of them - this baby wasn't going to move. The shelf would hold everything "in place"
I don't know how to add a photo right to this page.....sorry
WOW I'm better than I thought I was!

On our T2499 we changed the 2 bed room hanging closets into drawers on each side.
See pic.
It took a while to find just the right size plastic draw, buy these are very deep and work well.
I made a custom wood bottom piece that lays in the closet and held the bottom of the draws in place. I also made a top wood custom shelf that totally filled up the top surface to act as a shelf. I made this top and bottom to sandwich the shelves in there. There are no screws into the TT. I can completely take the entire thing out and be back to original in like 2 minutes.
If this custom wood fit deal is of interest let me know. I’ll go take some pics of it laying out in the open so you can re-create.
You said about the larger swinging doors. That may have been me. See here. I did all mine this way. It is night and day easier to get stuff in and out.
You will also notice here I added a full shelf to add more shoes.
Good luck. You will really like your new camper.
John

Good question.... It took a while to find them. Give me a day or so. I'll go look and see if I can find a brand name on them. They use to have wheels that came with them but I never put them on. So it is a rolling 4 drawer set.
Be back with info soon.

Our official Sunlins Decor is the 'Beach'- bright blue with striped pillows. As for our personal touch, it "Wal-Mart" sale decor! We are working towards a tropical theme, but the rugs I found were 80 bucks a piece! not for a camper, than you- the 10 dollar Wal-Mart Orange do just fine!

JohnB,
The drawers in the closet is right up my alley. Simple install, no cutting, drilling or blasting!!! I can wreck but always run into problems when trying to build something. For some reason I always miss the stud and find a wire.
If you find the manufacturer, please let me know and the size it is. All of you people out there are giving me great suggestions to make the best out of my coach.
Thank you,
Bobo

TinyblueTJ,
You might want to try: http://www.collectionsetc.com/
They have neat stuff, often a lot of nautical/beach items, reasonable prices & shipping.

The fabric selection in our '04 T-2499 is called "Forest Green" which is very peaceful and soothing to me. I just went along with this color scheme and bought sage green bath towels, bath mat and sheets. For the kitchen, I found some kitchen towels with a nature theme and sage green trim. I splurged on a 20-piece set of Pfaltzgraff melamine dishes called "Naturewood" that has the same green shades with an outdoor theme. I also found some matching acrylic glasses that my husband really likes. The stainless set I bought has olive green acrylic handles. I also found a Thomas Kinkade throw for the couch on eBay with a cottage scene by a stream. It was such fun putting it all together.

My sig shows all my interior colors. Even though I didn't mind the Twilight Blue Velour, I don't want another with it. I've had too many!
