Wasn’t today but at least this week. I have had a sewer smell since I bought my T1700 I tried everything it never could get rid of it not real bad but there. I decided to remove the toilet and find out why there was also another issue that I wanted to deal with I’m long legged fellow and the way the toilet was situated my knees were pressed against the vanity (it’s a tiny bathroom). So out with the toilet and the smell followed the toilet! Yep upside down with it and there was yuck inside, the design is a little strange but after a good dose of chlorine and the pressure washer it was a good as new. I managed to get the tank flange to turn also and about 5* off center was just what the DR ordered now I don’t have to sit sideways anymore with the vent and windows open!

While I was on the roof installing the Vent covers, I figured it was as good a time as any to yank the A/C cover, and give it some love. While I was at it, hit it with some coil cleaner, and lubed the fan motor bushings. I promise, soon I'll get to making the exterior look like something.

We decided to go with a cooling unit from this website: Dometic RM1350 Amish built Cooling Unit - RV Cooling Unit Warehouse they sell upgraded units that are made with tubing that is 50% thicker than the original. You can get a warranty for up to 10 years on them. I did some checking with complaints and reviews from customers before I purchased, the other place is cheaper, but this place sounds better if you have a problem. It looks like it will be a fun project to replace. Yes, I would never consider a dorm unit to replace the original Dometic. I will say, that the RM2652 never had any sort of problem for as long as we had it until last week. We removed the chair and I put a dorm frig there for the weekend, we also used an electronic cooler. We are on the road too much to not have a LP unit.

I found one at the dump similar to yours it's not a bad job to remove the cooling unit it of course has to be out of the camper. The stuff that seals the cooling units in is not glue like but it does take some force to get it loose I used a block of wood to tap the lower cooling part out (the one with the fins) be careful and get the block across all the fins you can knock the fins off. It's just the big screws on the back that holds it in so once they are free it should come out you may have to cut the tape on the edges. I had no use for the fridge other than to see if I could fix so it was not worth it to me to spend a lot of money fixing it but for my own curiosity I wanted to see how it came apart it is now a smoker box for smoking meat.

Last weekend, we took our Sunny to a local inside RV storage facility. Figured we'd keep her inside, this winter at least. Better than messing with a tarp and hoping no nasty weather comes along to tear it up. No, we're not done camping yet. When we go on another outing, she's handy and ready to go. She'll be ready when we are.

I finished the retrofit of the Dometic RM2652 on Tuesday. I replaced the bad cooling unit with a new, not remanufactured unit. This unit is suppose to cool more efficiently than the original. Though it isn't a hard test for it, once it was all back together and in the camper again, I started it, and within three hours it was quite cold inside. We are going on a weekend trip starting tomorrow and we will see how it does. More to come!

Maiden Voyage! I've actually been quite busy on the TT, but been lax on posting pics. I'll do better when we return!

Over the weekend, while camping in Southern utah, i installed shelves in my closet and turned my bathroom into a closet too, till i shower next year. I installed new outdoor lights, as the old ones were cracked and missing their lenses. Hung photos on the walls, and on the bunk too.

Fired up the water heater for the 1st time. . Rescued a 1986 18 ft about 2 weeks ago. Roof vents & bedding took the 1st inspection..Put water hose to it for the 1st time. Do not see any leaks inside the walls..Input hoses needed to be tighten with pliers & round gasket. Did not have to fix / clean anything on the pilot tube . Water heater fired. . 2) Was to install new side marker lights.. All the colored side lens covers seem to be gone from seller.. Charging the battery, which seems to be only 5 months old.. Roof clearance lights need more clean of the bases & add two missing bulbs.

Looks like a fun trip!

A little tip, make sure you tie down the front wheels on the bikes and sufficiently pad the handlebars. I've seen too many Sunlines with dented rear aluminum from handlebars banging them.

The rear bumper is only rated for 100# though, including a spare tire (which is often about 50ish).

I'll keep that in mind! Good thing The hitch haul wouldn't fit with the spare, as the load of firewood would have well exceeded the 100 lbs!

I drug our little "Peggy Sue" out of her storage berth, brought her to the house and put a new wheel/tire on the driver's side. (Both are new now.) The one I replaced was doing ok, but it had enough deterioration/cracks on the sidewalls, I didn't want to go another year and take the chance on a failure.

Well, as long as we have her out....and the weekend is going to get into the 70's....clear skies....might as well take her down into the canyon again. Gonna be a miserable weekend. (Not.)
