Well, today I made a big step in the energy department. I went to a "Relay for Life" event held in our county. I went with my friend that has been going to chemo treatments with me. I was able to walk (kinda slowly) 2, yes "two" laps around the track Has me kinda tuckered out now, but I have to get things done within the next 3 days, as I have chemo on wednesday, and then off to "BUTTONWOOD" on thursday evening.

Wish me Luck !!!

Headed to the hospital to see "if" I can have my chemo treatment today, I'm all ready for it, now if those little blood platelets co-operate, things will be good. Ya'll keep your fingers crossed for me.

I "think" I got almost everything out into Sunny yesterday, so I don't have to worry about getting packed up, in case I do get my chemo. I finally got something done when I planned to do it.

Gotta go, my ride is here.

YEAH !!!! I got to have my chemo today. He once again has lowered my daily dose of the Zeloda chemo pills. Started out originally with 7, then he lowered it to 5, now I will take 4 a day for 14 days after my liquid chemo. Then one week NO chemo at all, the right back into the same routine.

No estimate of low many more treatments I will have to have. He is also going to schedule another cat scan.

And, I did ask him his thoughts about me returning to work the end of August, and basically was told "Not Gonna Happen". He will fill out the papers necessary to see if I can get on SS Disability. OH great more hoops to jump thru.

OK, nap time

Great you have another chemo out of the way. I guess treatments until he says it is over, whenever that is.

Since the doctor will be filing the SSD papers there should not be any hoops for you to jump thru. I would have thought you would have been put on SSD some time ago since your treatments were sure to go over a year long. For sure, it is much better to have that money coming in. It will help with more trips.

I was using up my sick leave, as I had that many days stockpiled until the last 18 days of this school year. My last day of work was Sept. 15th, so since then I was using sick leave. Then when that ran out, I had to go 3 days without pay, and then I was able to collect from our sick leave bank for 18 days, but it has limits on how many days you can use.

Years ago I set up my pay to get paid year round, so over the summer I will continue to get paid. So hopefully by about the 3rd week of August when school starts again, all this will be taken care of with SSD, as I won't have any sick leave to use. Ah, one more hoop/hurdle to go thru.

Kitty

We are glad you were able to have the chemo and are sending prayers for your ongoing improvement.

Marshall started his work career doing SSD claims in MD as eligibility is determined at the state level but benefits are paid by the federal government. Make sure you are very careful completing the application.

Have fun at Buttonwood this weekend!

Well, I went and had another CAT Scan yesterday, and chemo is scheduled for tomorrow. I'm sure I will find out the results of the CAT Scan tomorrow. I have been hurting at/under my lower right rib. This pain started about the time (5/23), when I slipped down my wet steps and landed pretty darn hard on my left side. SO, we don't know if the fall is having anything to do with the pain I'm having, so hopefully I will know tomorrow. Now, those stupid platelets better have their act together so I can have my chemo tomorrow.

Will post another update tomorrow evening.

Kitty

Kitty,

We are really hoping that all goes well tomorrow. Just tried to send you a PM but I don't think it went.
