Well, I'm waiting for my ride (friend) and we will be heading to the hospital to see "if" my platlets are up enough for me to have my chemo today. Fingers crossed.

Well, no chemo today, platelets still too low, but they have come up some, so hopefully next week I will be able to have my chemo. I had even talked to the RN that usually accesses' my port and told her I NEEDED her to access my port if I could do the chemo today, then I told her about last weeks nightmare.

Saw my doctor and he is going to speak to the surgeon that put the port in my chest to request that he re-position & anchor my port since it is moving around so much.

I now return next tuesday at 8:30 to see "if" I can have my chemo. Had date changed from monday to tuesday since the "Sunny Port" is scheduled to be installed on monday. I need to be here to take pictures.

You mention "techs" were accessing your port? In NYS only trained/certified RN's are allowed to access ports. There are all kinds of protocol, skills, and procedures required...she can’t believe techs are accessing yours. She suggested that you demand only a skilled/trained/certified RN be allowed to access your port, that is your right. [/QUOTE]

Today, I saw the two ladies that tried to access my port last monday, and they were indeed RN's. New RN's I guess. While I was waiting for my blood work to process, one of those new gals was trying to get an IV working on the lady next to me and was having no luck, so at least she "did" go get someone to get the job done.

Maybe the longer time between treatments is going to be the norm for you since it seems to be happening so often. I'm sure the doctor is taking that into account.

Don't forget the pictures.

Sorry, forgot to post changes. Got call from RV Port folks, had to change install date to tuesday, May 1st. SO, had to call oncology AGAIN to change my chemo from May 1st. tried to get it back on April 30th, but they were full, so it is now scheduled for May 2nd at 8:30am.

I hope those little platelets suckers have re-grouped and gained some new, stronger members. I hate missing treatments, which just prolongs however long I have to have treatments, which just depends on how the tumors in my liver continue to shrink.

I just deal with it, try to kinda laugh stuff off, no sense in getting upset about it. But, I really don't like being a "Needle Testing Ground" and THAT will NOT ever happen again unless I'm unconcious.

But, need to get it done so that I"ll be feeling somewhat good for the Rocky Gap GTG, May 18 - 20.

Plus, I still have to finish the fireplace install, gotta find my jigsaw, located my sawzall, circular saw, chop saw, drill, but that darn jigsaw is hiding somewhere. Got all the batteries re-charging, so power should be no problem .

Camera is loaded with fresh batteries and have more new ones if needed for the RV Port install. Hum, might just have to set up the anti-gravity lounge chair for a front row seat More chair room available, no charge, just show up. We could even order PIZZA !!!!

It's gonna be so nice knowing that Sunny is under cover. OH yeah, I backed Sunny up the driveway again on saturday. That's twice now !!!

Kitty

Next I will have to tackle the "Sunny Port". Not sure I will be able to do that since it won't require me backing in "blind" ROFL

OK, here's my update. Thanks to lots of prayers from all my friends and me having a good long hard talkin' to my platelets (I threatened them), there were MUCH improved today, so I was able to have my chemo today. Start my chemo pills tonight and then 2X a day for the next 2 weeks. Back on May 23rd for another round of chemo. Today was treatment #8, but it sure seems like I have had more than that. The one nurse told me that "normally" they do 12 treatments, but it depends on how the cancer responds, guess I'll be having another CAT Scan in the future to see what the tumors are doing.

OK, going to take a nap,

Kitty

Dag Nab It, no chemo today, those stupid platelets were too low again. Doc has me waiting "2" weeks until we try again. That will be June 6, the day before we head to Buttonwood. Not good timing at all.

But, I WILL be there !!!!
