We always leave the propane on and the fridge on when we travel. We have never had any trouble with fumes or fires, ect. I am a realest and I was in a home destroyed by a class four tornado when I was 5 months old. June 17 1946 in Windsor ON Canada. Stuff can happen at anytime. We all have to make choices of how we live each day. We have insurance and two GPS units and my wife is very in-touch with the weather situation. So when we hook up we say a prayer and do our best. At break times we pull over go in the trailer open the fridge and decide what to eat.
I guess what I am trying to say is we all have to decide what we are comfortable with. For us it's a vacation and we just want it to be safe and fun. I drove transport for 45 years and I try to leave space between other vehicles, don't drive too fast, don't travel to long. Where we normally is 1000 miles and we take 4 days to get there and three to get home. You only get today enjoy it.
