Today my awning support arm and rafter arm slid out of track.

Hi Campers, can anyone tell me how I can get my rafter arm back into the track of the support arm of my awning? We tried to get it back in and didn't succeed. They are hanging separately now. I have a 2003 26sr. thank you, Sherry

Yes, I will take a pic of it next weekend when I get back to the campground. Thank you for responding.

Hmm, I think I know what you're describing. It's the part that slides, right?

NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, DON'T UNBOLT THE TOP CAP BY THE AWNING TUBE! That cap is under strong spring tension and it'll really hurt you if it gets loose.

You might be able to drill the rivet off of the foot for the bottom of the arm and slide it back in that way.

I can't imagine why it popped out in the first place. It was dragging a lot and I should have lubricated it so it would slide better. Maybe that would have prevented this from happening. Thank you for responding.

Hi Sherry,

We need to know which part you are talking about.

Is this the top telescoping bar with the back tightening knob?

Or the lower telescoping channel with the black handle lever where the lever handle fits into a series of holes in the side of the channel?

I 110% agree with Sunline Fan, do not take the gray end cap off the awning tube but we do not know what part you are referring to.

Here is the "lower" arm with the lever handle

Here is both the upper and the lower. The Star and spinner twirly thing is hanging off the "top" telescoping bar with the black knob you tighten up.

Hope this helps

John
