Thanks for the help..
Well,to all who responded and tried to help in our search for a 2990 or 2975--thanks! but we are done searching...We have decided that all the things that drew us to our second 2653 are the things that we would miss most in a different model..So,we have decided to stay with what we have and invest in a newer TV instead,at least for now. I really do appreciate your efforts though-especially Jon and Kitty and Pam!!!And who knows, after the newer TV,another newer 2653 might be in the picture!!!(sometime down the road...)Thanks again, Jan

Janalee,
Sorry things won't work out for you to move up to a 2990/2975, but sometimes things happen for a reason. By staying with the 2653 you don't need a monster truck to tug it around. I had (2) 2653's and loved them only sold them because folks wanted them and were willing to pay me my stupid prices that I threw out at them (the trailers really weren't for sale), but money talked back then and Sunlines weren't scarce. I bought a used a 1993 2653, paid $6,300 for it, used it for 2 years, sold it for $8,500, then I bought a used 1997 for 9,000 and 3 months later sold it for $10,500. The 2653 was high on my list when looking for this last purchase, the only thing that swayed me was the huge rear window in the 2499. But, hey this 2499 ain't for sale, unless I'd be offered like double what I paid for it, then I'd have to think long and hard on that decision. And, the major factor with that decision would be "Where would I find a Sunline to replace what I have" So, I'd say you have made a wise decision, especially with the rising fuel costs. Today, at my Flying J (11 miles from the house) diesel is gonna cost me $3.44 a gal OUCH
I leave 3/21 for a get to gether in Walterboro, SC and I'm currently figuring 4 bux a gal. That is just plain nuts. I see a LOT of local camping in my future. With rising fuel costs, might find myself looking for a VW & a 1550, now wouldn't that be a picture
Kitty

Kitty, you are SO lucky to have that Flying J near you. We try to fill up in Virginia because the diesel is usually at least $.20 / gallon cheaper than in PA. When I go to Charlottesville I always try to fill up at the White's or the Flying J. But even if I have to fill up at the plain ol' gas station in Charlottesville it's better than at home Apparently the diesel tax in PA is horrendous.
