Sunny #19 is heading south

Hello all,

I know I haven't been on here, nearly enough. Things have been crazy around here. In a couple of days, Sunny #19, the T-2653 is moving to South Carolina. Angie has decided to move back down there, get a job and go to school. Instead of her having to find a place to live immediately, I decided to let her have the 2653 and she can live in it until she finds a stick house.

I haven't asked her yet, but I'm hoping she stays on the board and posts some pics of her adventures.

I've also removed her name from the Buttonwood sign-up thread. It looks as if everyone is going to have to put up with me this year, without my buffer... Philip has said that he may be willing to go, so at least I won't be by myself...

Me too Gary! This is my first time on here in a week or so, and I haven't been on much at all lately.

Looking forward to following along with the 2653's adventures! What will she be towing it down there with?

Hope you start to feel better soon too!

She's taking the 2011 F250. Since we got it, she has made all the payments, while I paid the insurance and maintenance. Last month, she finished her associate's degree and wants to go to school in South Carolina, for her Bachelor's. I am so proud of her for all she has been through, to get where she is. Her moving 600 miles away is really tough on me, but I'm happy for her.

We got her out of here this morning.. Even though the outside temperature was 1 degree above 0! With me being sick and the temps being so cold, I didn't have much of a chance to match the hitch to both the truck and trailer. The hitch head I used, was originally setup for the T-320SR and the dual cam set up. The 2653 rode nose-high, with that setup. Here's a picture, when I had it all hitched up and almost ready this morning..

That's Philip in there, replacing the battery. We had a whopping 7.6v in the old one...

Angie hadn't had breakfast yet, so we decided to go to Flying J.. You can see how nose high it was riding..

While we were having breakfast, I remembered that I had forgotten to grab a sewer hose out of the fifth wheel for her.. Oops! That necessitated a trip to Camping world... While there, I asked my friend if I could borrow some tools and I adjusted the hitch head, right there in the parking lot... I moved it to the lowest possible holes in the shank... I could have adjusted it better, if it didn't have the high-rise ball installed.

That's the last picture I was able to take, before she headed south.

14 months ago, I lost Kitty. Today, Angie moved 600 miles away. I miss them both dearly, but I'm hoping Angie will let me come and visit...

Gary,

Tell Angie congratulations on that Associate's Degree and best of luck with her studies!

We know you will miss her but we won't be surprised to hear about you traveling to SC for a visit.

Angie finally made it to SC, this afternoon. She was sneezing and sniffling yesterday and it developed a sore throat last evening. She got backed into her site around 3pm today and decided it was time for a nap, before she even set Sunny up. I knew her moving down there was going to be difficult for me, but I had no idea how difficult and it's only been just over 24 hours...

Here's a pic she took today, at the rest area in SC..

Soon after I bought this Sunny, I wasn't sure it would ever see any use. I had even considered tearing it down to the frame. I had some great motivation at the time, as well as the help of some very wonderful friends! Since I no longer needed it, I tried selling it. Even after a year, nobody was remotely interested in it. I now know why I was unable to sell it. It's by no means a full-timing rig, but it is absolutely perfect for this situation. Angie doesn't have to be in any kind of rush to find a stick house, has room for her things and is able to stay at a state park. The fees at this park are reasonable, but they only offer water and electric. I haven't discussed this with her yet, but I was thinking of bringing her the macerator pump and the blue tote that David and MaryAnn gave me. It would keep her from having to break camp, just to empty her holding tanks.

Gary,

Good luck to Angie with her studies. A very nice thing to give her the 2653; sounds like it'll work out perfectly in her situation. Hope that you feel better in all ways soon.

I was fortunate enough, to visit Angie this weekend. It's a 590 mile drive, so I left immediately after work on Friday. I pulled in to the campsite at around 1240am Saturday morning. I have to admit, that going down there was well-worth the drive! Angie has a site in Givhan's Ferry SP. It's the first SP I have ever been to, that DID NOT have a push button gate entry!

When I saw this entrance (At night) I thought it was a service entrance. The gates were closed and had a chain/padlock on them. Angie had given me a gate code, but I didn't realize it was the combination to the lock! I drove right past it and turned around a couple of miles later.. Oops!

The CG itself is small, but perfect for what she needs. The sites are fairly big and no frills. Here's a couple of pics, of Sunny and the site:

And one of my Angie..

Being so close to the ocean, everything is sand. Angie spends time each night, sweeping the sand back out the door. It rained my entire trip down there Friday evening, but the temp was 71* and sunny on Saturday! I was actually walking around bare foot!

We had a wonderful visit and I cannot wait to go back! Angie has already had an offer, from someone that wants to buy the Sunny! We'll see how things work out.. We actually have a "Spare" Sunny... Doesn't that sound weird?? Sunny #18 might just be making a trip south too! I left there at 1115am this morning and got home at 8:30 this evening.. Long drive!

What an amazing difference in temps a 9 hour drive can make!
