Safety safety safety alert

This news item is about a cousin of mine in California. This is a situation where "that looks good enough" does not apply.

Pop Up Video

Here is a warning I have on the Restoration Tips page of my 1962 Galaxie Registry: it applies to all vehicles.

3. NEVER NEVER NEVER get under your Galaxie or any other car without the proper jack stands properly placed. That thing weighs in at about 2 tons. It if comes down on you, it will hurt.

I second the wish. He must've been scared witless.

I learned as a mechanic to play the old Sesame Street game of "what happens next." Always imagine what can happen if something, anything, no matter how unlikely, goes wrong. That's why we push on a wrench with the palm of our hand, fingers open, right?
