Red face replace refrigerator

Hi! I want to replace the combo refrigerator in my 1985 SunLine, and need some advice as to how to get the old one out. Thanks for any help.

Hi Jerry,

Welcome to SOC!

I do not know your vintage fridge. Others on the forum have removed the older ones.

Here are some videos on the newer ones. They may help.

Hope this helps

Thanks John. I already have the replacement, I just need to know how to get started removing the old one. I don't want to ruin something by just tearing into it.

The 1st video showed how to remove it in case you did not check it out yet.

Good luck.

remove fridge from RV

Thanks, John for trying to help me, (I guess I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer), and I couldn't find any videos. Would you be able to give me a URL where I can find it? Thanks again

Hi Jerry,

Here try this. It is a direct hot link to a U Tube video. This model is in the newer Sunlines. Yours may not be exactly like this but it may help on where to look for the screws. Good luck

John

I removed my refrigerator in my 1990 T1500 and replaced the cooling unit. It isn't a bad job. I first turned off the gas and disconnected the propane line on the outside of the trailer. Next I unplugged the AC power cord. There are a couple of screws that hold down the gas and power cord that have to come out. On the inside you will find some decorative caps that are covering screws on the side of the refrgerator. Pop them off and remove the screws. Then all you have to do is slide the refrigerator out. I found it was helpful at first to have someone on the outside pushing the refrigerator in while someone else is pulling. My refrigreator was a small one and could easily be carried by two people.

Fantastic video. I saved it for future reference. I'm sure with a 2001 I'll be needing it somewhere down the line.

Thank you both for your help. I'll tackle it tomorrow with my wife's (of 62 years) help.
Today I planted my Texas sweet onions. Yesterday, cabbage and chard. Life is good!!

Yes, that is one of the best I have seen so far. I'm sure sooner or later I will need to do it too.

Hi Jerry, Good luck with it. If you can take a pic or 2 and post it here to help others. If you need help linking the pic, we can help with that too.

Sweet onions and cabbage. Yes, I can relate to planting them. Never did Chard. Right now we are still a bit frozen up here for planting.... however tomorrow it is suppose to hit 60F??? It was 3F the other day... Talk about a weather pattern swing...

If I get some instruction on posting pictures, John, I will be glad to do that. Which do you want first? The onions or the Swiss chard? Just kidding! Joanie is a great photographer, so we'll start the fridge-ectomy tomorrow, and try to document it as we go.

You might want to take a look at the thread "Refrigerator measurements." in this forum. I did a search for it, and it was on page two near the bottom of the "search" list. I replaced my Dometic with an all electric.

Just go to the "Search" box in the white bar at the top of the page, hit the little arrow beside it and a box will come up...type in "Refrigerator measurements" and it will take you to a list of about 9 pages...go to the second page near the bottom and you'll find "Refrigerator measurment" listed...click on it and it will bring up the thread.

Or bookmark this search link. It works much better than the one Drake describes and is supported on all browsers.
