Hi Andrew,
I may be able to help. I have been inside a year 2000 T260SR about about year ago. I was really looking at the slide drive under the camper as it used the Dewald slide drive system. The inside I did not look as close, but here are some thoughts on how to get the carpet out.
If you can attach a few pics of yours, inside and under the camper slide with the slide out, this will help so I can see what yours looks like. If I recall right, the slide floor when the slide is all the way out, has about a 1 1/2" to 2" high raised floor top of the main camper floor. Is that correct? I didn't think the flush floor slides came until the Lippert slide drive came in year 2002/2003.
Most all of these large slide rooms have room in the opening of the camper to be raised in place a small amount. If you hold back the rubber seal on the outside, you can see the air gap between the camper wall flange and the slide room wall. The rubber flap spans that gap. Take a look and see what it there.
From a step ladder, if you feel comfortable getting on one, look at the gap at the slide roof to the slide wall flange. Do not climb on the slide roof. it cannot hold you. Many have about 1/2" to sometimes 3/4" gap that is covered by the rubber slide seal flap before the slide roof will hit the slide wall flange.
After you have confirmed that, (and please confirm back with pics before doing this) you can jack up the slide at the wall area only and that will lift the slide off the floor about 1/2". I will explain more on how to lift the slide if your has the room to be lifted.
Not sure if the 1/2" to 3/4" is enough for you, but that much I have a possible way on how to get that.
Hope this helps.
John
