Refrigerator Question

We have a Norcold but that's not relevent. This year we went camping 10 weekends with 18 weekends from the first trip to the last trip. This year we turned the fridge on in late May and never shut it off until after the last trip. It cycled between electrical at home or on generator and a couple of campsites with power and gas at most sites and while traveling. In the past we turned it off as soon as we got home and emptied it and turned it on a day before the next trip.

We can see the temperature on an external thermometer for both the upper and lower and it was always constant for both. On shutdown there was a small about of ice in the freezer which came to maybe a cup full on defrost.

My question is, is it not harmful to leave it on all summer or should I turn it off after each trip? What do others do?

Our fridge stays on from de-winterizing, to winterizing. These things were designed to run 24/7/365. If ours gets a lot of frost in it, I turn it off and leave the doors open for a day. We don't keep a lot of perishables in it anyway, so I put what I need to in the house fridge for a day.

If you can have it home and plugged in all the time, leave it on. Everything I've heard says that the refrigerators that give the most trouble down the line are the ones that have been turned on/off the most.
