REALLY unusual Sunline on I81

Heading home today we saw a crazy Sunline rig going the other direction on I81 - they were going south right after we crossed over into PA. It was an older Sunline truck camper or very small fifth wheel mounted to a flat bed trailer, being towed by a truck. They had their "toys" on the trailer, under the cabover section, or where the gooseneck would be. We just didnt get a good enough look at it to say for sure if it was a TC or a 5er, with being on the highway going 60 mph in opposite directions, but WOW what a sight Just curious if anyone else has seen this.

Pics or it didn't happen!

I've seen it a few times before, including one that was reskinned. It's pretty common to mount the truck campers to trailers, whether temporarily or permanently. Build an enclosure for the front area under the cabover and you'll have a pretty nice toy hauler area. Plus, depending on the size of the trailer, a nice porch/extra toy space in the back. What color siding was it- off white, tan, gray, or polar white?

The siding was tan. I'm pretty sure it was a TC. I was the passenger, so got the better look at it. It looked silly, but as you point out very functional as a toy hauler! And it was low so probably got great gas mileage!

I had a friend that for years towed around a truck camper on a flat bed I think the bottom finely rotted out. Must say it was a silly looking thing.

There's a guy local to me who has a similar setup, and he does sprinkler system repairs and winterizations. Behind the TC, on the tandem axle utility trailer, is a gas compressor and other storage stuff for his tools. Kinda a neat setup to have a rolling home with all your work stuff. It's an old TC and not in very good condition.

Not sure where you're from, but maybe it was him!
