Really Good RV Shows

The RV show thread got me thinking. With all the new types of campers out there now (Earthbound, Evergreen, Galileo), there seems to be a lot of creativity in the RV industry and it'd be interesting to see some of it. What RV shows are big enough so that you're likely to see these new and unusual campers? We've made the rounds of the Indianapolis and Fort Wayne shows, but neither has much in the way of variety: it seems like you can find a lot of small popups and a ton of huge 5th wheelers, but not much in between. You'd think being located in the middle of the RV industry we'd have the best shows, but it's not the case.

There's undoubtedly a lot of RV show-going experience in this forum. Where would you suggest we go to see the greatest variety of RVs?
Thanks,
Don

Hershey PA in Sept. is huge and has almost everything. We've been several times. I think our last visit was 2008. You really can't do it in a day without being totally exhausted. There were alot of the smaller ones there the last time we went, and some different brands. However, there were a few not represented - ie. Arctic Fox wasn't there.

Yep, there's no rv show bigger than Hershey. Last time we went, we camped right at the show. We were at the show for 2 days and still didn't look at all the rv's. You'll find almost every manufacturer there. I believe there were 1300 units on display.

pwb01 is an unknown quantity at this point
One large one was two weeks ago at the New York State fairgrounds in Syracuse. 600+ units all indoors. I brought a couple of grand kids with me and taught them a new word they were excited about and went home to tell mom and dad........."Class A". Sorry mom and dad.

Hershey is a great show, but like the others have said, make sure you give yourself a few days to take it all in.

If you want to see RV's and Non-traditional Overland Vehicles, make sure you check out the Overland EXPO this April just south of Tucson.

Cindy and I will be giving a presentation there this year, and be coming home with a full review of the show with probably too many photos of the truly one of a kind campers built to travel the globe and be completely self-contained and supported.

Vehicles Like Earthroamers

Adventure Trailers

and just items that traditional manufacturers dont think of

The wagon shot was a joke...LOL

The Hershey show it is then. We're making our plans to attend. The HGTV RV 2010 episode was interesting, although I don't understand what they were showing if Hershey's 2010 show is in September.

A Radio Flyer Harley Davidson. Now that's an RV.

What's the hotel situation like during the Hershey RV show? Do you need to make reservations well ahead of time? Is there a shuttle or other public method of transportation to and from the show?
Advice is appreciated.
Don

There aren't alot of hotels in Hershey, but there is the Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge, and of course a bunch in Harrisburg. Hershey HighMeadow Campground is near the show. They have cabins if you don't want to bring the Sunline. You can find details on the Hershey website. Parking at the show is free and easy so there's really no need to take a shuttle. They have trams from the far ends of the parking lots. Most years they have discount tickets to the show at Hershey lodging. Multi day tickets are for sale online ahead of time and are the best deal if you're going more than one day. I usually carry my QUE bag, so be sure to say hi if you see us
