radio install in 1991 t 1700

i found wires above sink for under counter lights. when i hook stero up to them the 10 amp fuse in radio blows(3x) Someone said i have to run wires directly from battery? I ve hooked the radio up directly to the battery and it works fine. Any help folks

Reversed polarity? The radios use very little current your light wiring should be fine. The white wire is - and the black +

THANK YOU VERY MUCH,I MOVED RADIO TO CABINET OVER BY DOOR ABOVE TABLE,CUT WIRES FOR OUTDOOR LIGHT TO SPLICE INTO,HAS I DID I TOUCHED TWO WIRES TOGETHER LOST POWER FOUND 30AMP FUSE AT HITCH BLOWN REPLACED IT ALL OTHER 12 V LIGHTS WORK BUT STILL NO POWER TO THIS ONE? iS THERE ANOTHER FUSE OR BREAKER SOMEWHERE? I RESET THE BREAKERS IN CABINET DOWN AT FLOOR?

Good question I complete redid all of my wiring and fuse panel when I installed a new converter charger I think the lighting is fused right and left side. The fuses are inside of your converter in the little cabinet below the fridge. The breakers are only for your 120 volt stuff.
