This morning while perusing Craigslist (as I always do) I ran across a 2006 T-2363 locally that was priced to sell. From the pictures it looked like new. So I made an appointment to look at it.

When I got there it was immediately apparent this thing had never been used. The owner, an older gentleman, explained that they purchased it new in 2006 and used it four times; once per year to go to a local resort about 15 miles away. Add in a couple trips to the dealer and this thing probably only has 250 miles on it at most. The tires look great, probably because he has them covered.

The interior is immaculate, like brand new. Now I need another trailer like I need another hole in my head, but I made the deal and we're picking it up tomorrow. The plan is to let my brother (JaredB) buy it and we can use it occasionally when we don't feel like hauling the beast (see sig), especially shorter trips of only one or two nights.

So, JaredB will have a nice 2005 T-1950 going up for sale very soon. I'll let him tell you more about it when he gets it washed and ready for sale.

Perusing Craigslist can be dangerous. As can perusing the Stoltzfus lot...that's how we ended up trading the QUE for the Tweety

THAT is the understandment of the decade.

In the past few weeks I have ended up with an RV and a boat, neither of which I really needed, but couldn't pass up because they were in great shape at great prices.

I need to put a parental block type of filter so I can't access Craigslist. It's a free site, but soooooo expensive!

Oh geez Jeff! I saw that a couple days ago and I agree, it is a great price. Certainly could be better since he said to make an offer, but still a great price as it is!

And it has a hinged LP cover!

I'm starting to get an itch too, and it keeps getting worse. 2007 was too long ago. I contacted about one the other day, a '99 1950 for $2600, but he responded that it was sold

I bet your brother will be thrilled. And like you said, you can use it when you don't feel like hauling the big one around.

Gary mentioned keeping the 17 1/2SB "if/when" we ever get it redone so that we could use it for those quick escapes. HAHAHA, there is NO NO NO NO way that I'll be camping in that. I could do a 2363 or bigger, but with the two (2) greyhounds we do need a little room.

We just got it home. The condition is even far better than I originally thought. I bought a 2005 Sunline 5th wheel from a dealer that he said he used only twice, and this is in 10x better condition than that unit which was basically new.

My 2011 Heartland Big Horn has more wear and tear than this 2006 Sunline, and I take exceptionally good care of my things. Even things like the inside of the fridge, where you normally get those little scuff marks on the door pockets, are all immaculate. We'll have to get some pics up as soon as we can. It's unbelievable. I've never seen a used trailer in anywhere near this condition, and I've looked at dozens.

Sorry guys, I took the trailer to a temporary storage place, and only thought to take a couple exterior shots. I'll take some pictures next weekend for you all.

I am still learning about travel trailers, but I can spot something that has been taken care of, and I can say for sure, this thing is like brand new. Plus it came with many camping accessories, saving me from having to buy them myself. I am currently planning on coming to the Midwest M&G so most of you will have a chance to see it in person. The only thing possibly preventing me is my tow vehicle. I really need to get it re-geared to prevent my transmission from detonating. In the meantime, I have included some pictures of the outside.

Also, I have listed my 2005 1950 in the for sale section. I hate to see it go, but this new trailer and the arrangement with my brother makes the most sense.

Good thing you bought the 1,000# Equal-I-zer. The 600# would of been too light now.... LOL

Who would of known. You picked that one right!!

Good times are ahead. That is a poplar camper. We have many here on SOC with that model.

That's what I thought too, until I found it came with a draw-tite WD hitch with sway control.

So now I have a brand new Equal-I-zer hitch sitting in my house that I don't need. I'll find out tomorrow how good their return policy is.

I'm very excited!

Which sway control is the Draw tite using? A friction sway bar?

If so the Equal-I-zer is hands down 5 times more effective. Maybe keep the Equal-I-zer and sell the Drawtite on Criegs list.

Yes, the Draw Tite has the two WD bars and an additional friction control (i'd call it a slider) attachment. I have noticed a huge difference in how my tow vehicle handles from a 1950 w/o weight distribution bars and the 2363 with them.

I'll check on the return policy for the Equal-I-zer WD. The trailer already had the draw tite one installed, so that's what I'll be using at least for now.

Jared, I have the Equal-i-zer. It is a very easy diy install and it, and any other all-in-one hitch, has huge advantages over friction sway bars. Friction sway bars attach to a small ball on a platform attached to the hitch. Both the ball and platform are easily broken in a tight turn because the sway bar can't move as far the rest of the hitch. Most people unhook sway bars before turning into a tight camping spot. They should also unhook them any other time they are in a tight turn, but forget, and I've often seen these components broken while walking around campgrounds and people then towing without sway control. Attaching sway bars is also one more separate step in the hitching process. Sway bars are often used on lighter campers that don't need wd and they can be very effective here. Personally, I think if a camper needs wd it should be an all-in-one.

I know you've got a pile of money tied up in a second hitch, but don't be too hasty selling the Equal-i-zer. Try the sway bar first to see how it works for you and then sell the Equal-i-zer in a month or two. We're not yet at the beginning of the camping season.

Another Equal-i-zer owner here. Sell the Drawtite and keep the Equal-i-zer, you won't regret it. And you probably won't get another one for that price.
