Opinions needed...

Okay...first of all...got the bearings cleaned and repacked, so we are ready to roll...thanks all for the tips..
Now I have a bigger problem..On our way south we are stopping to look at a 2753 for sale at a dealer...since DH's surgery, we took out the sofa and replaced it with a mattress making a daybed..now what happens if we decide to trade while on our trip? Just can't carry along all that weight of the sofa for a just in case scenario...do you think it will go against a trade without the sofa? You can see my pics in modification subject line...Please tell me what you think? I haven't told the dealer about it over the phone as yet......or should I NOT .......I don't mind waiting until we come back in March but am so afraid I won't find one again.... I would like to change so we can sleep together again in a queen bed....Janalee

I've found that most dealers, with enough pressure from the buyer, will give into your demands. If they really want to sell something they will tend to be flexible. It's the off season for trailer sales so you already have one thing working in your favor. Mention to them that you removed the sofa for medical reasons and if they need to have it in order to resell the unit that you would be happy to make it available for them. Maybe you could wrap it up in plastic and they could contact any LTL trucking company (Conway,USF-Holland, ABF, Yellow, PJAX, etc...) have have it picked up at your location. Or you can even drop it off at the trucking terminal. LTL shipping isn't a mega expense. If they want to sell you something they will usually compromise. Good luck.

I took a feather mattress that my daughter had used in college and placed it on top of the sofa bed. It made a world of difference. You might want to reinstall the sofa and add one of these for your trip - just in case you want to make the trade. You can convert it back to the day bed if decide against the trade. Target sells either a feather or non-feather version for around $55.

Think I'd put the sofa back in to keep the trailer original in case you decide to trade. "IF" you trade the next person might like their "n-used" Sunny to be pretty much original. Is there any way that hubby could sleep on the bed? Or maybe purchase one of the air mattresses to put on top of the sofa for him to use.

I would talk it over with the dealer before leaving about his thoughts? If you have the price right and your positive you want to trade then put your coach back to original, I realize this is a hard decision at this time, but it's a decision you must make before you go!!!!.

Jan,

I'd have to agree with the others- put the couch back in. If you think the deal could be at least 50% possible, I would put it back in. If you think you can make some sort of mod to turn the couch into a bed, I would take a short trip sometime before you leave to make sure the new arrangement will work. Since you'll be gone for so long, you won't want to not be comfortable and have to put up with it for so long.

I think the shipping option would be a good choice, assuming the dealer will pay for the costs. If the deal means enough to them, they'll cover it.

Jon

We took out all the stuff that made the QUE not look like brand new, so my advice is to put the sofa back in.
