New battery

Can someone jump in here with some info. I've got a T2553 and need to replace the battery. Problem: trailer and all manuals are in storage in RI. I already know that I should get a deep cycle battery but, need to know what series or the size I will need. Your help is appreciated.

Dave

A 24 series will probably do just fine, especially if you usually hook up to shore power. Do not get a BJs battery. They don't last.

The battery box on my 2363 is a group 24 size box. You can get a group 27 size box which is a little longer for under $10. I saw what looked like a true deep cycle battery at Tractor Supply Company last Fall, I think it was this one for $90 (105 AH @ 20 hour rate). It is a group 27 size battery. I got mine at batteries plus. I would ask them to fully charge it for you. Mine was on my slow charger for almost 2 days. Thought it was bad and took it back. It took them almost 5 more hours to charge. Manager said he never realized the batteries were so low when delivered. Works fine now. Holds charge for weeks.

Don't get Exide. That is what BJs sells.

There are only about 3 or 4 battery manufactures in the entire country so all of the other batteries are rebranded your best bet is to buy the one with the best warranty they are usually the better built ones. It all depends on your needs if you are only using it to light the lights while you get situated then you don’t need much of a battery if you are out in the woods then buy the biggest one that will fit I use two group 24’s and spend most of my time off grid.
