nasa42a how was 2 weeks in a QUE?

I think you should be returning about now from your shake down trip to FL from PA. How did it go? How was 2 weeks in small quarters? Any tips or tricks us QUE owners can learn from you. My husband took a look at the sewer connection and thought your idea of how to fix that issue sounded like something he needs to do too. We do our shake down trip to Harper's Ferry at the end of the month, and I can't wait

Hey Q,

I see your headed to Harpers Ferry the end of the month. IF you'd like a visit, if you can give me more info in a PM I will try to ride over one evening "IF" you'd like to meet. I only live about 25 minutes from there. Also, if you take the shuttle bus into Harpers Ferry Nat. Park, if you get a slim, dark haired fellow driving the bus, ask if he is "George" my best friend, co - worker, and Sunline traveleing buddy. He has a 1982 Sunline 1550, all original except for the A/C and curtains!!!

Pam....

We just got in last night and I needed some sleep and home maintenance time before answering...
[A] "Space" question:
=> 2 weeks in close quarters went fine (as teenagers, we'd have all KILLED for this). Reacquainted ourselves with always sacking out together at the same time, and with making the bed before breakfast so we could sit at the table.
[B] Glitches noted:
=> Found that the folding table supplied by Sunline was just a little too big to get out of the closet comfortably & to stow out of sight. Cumbersome. We replaced ours with a resin-top folding table purchased at Staples. A bit smaller & much lighter than the original equipment, it was adequate for use....and much more comfortable to handle & use.
=> Found that the attachment for the front support for the bed slide was not sturdy enough. Ours was simply screwed into the (3) slider frames with a single screw...and it began to loosen and threaten to split the pine slider boards. Solved that with 6 angle braces from Home Depot....4 screws per brace.
=> The exposed corners prove a bit vulnerable to impact chips (ours has Cherry cabinets, which show nicks). Touched nicks up w/ Cherry varnish stain and put vinyl "clear corner protectors" (used in homes to protect plaster corners) on them.
=> And I really have to finish my sewer hose storage as discussed before (couldn't get to it before I left....and was using garbage bags to store the critter in the truck bed).

Very few problems, considering it was a brand new model for Sunline....and they didn't have a chance to "debug" it in year 2. Can't wait to go out again (after the last freeze in PA).

Hey...Enjoy your shakedown!

Frank
