My Weekend
I hope you guys won't mind this didn't involve a Sunline, but here's some pics of my weekend:
We were about 30' from the fire b/c of the heat of the fire and the fact it was 80 degrees out! We could roast marshmallows from our seats!
Our water source if we run out. Great clear clean water in the middle of the woods. It's served us well for ~15 years.
But, it's down a hill- about a 50' drop
My preferred ride for the weekend...with trailer attached. I pulled this thing over ORV trails for about 5 miles, loaded and unloaded!
This turkey cooking setup was supposed to be brought to the M&G, but it was too darn hot in August. And just think, we had it just as warm this past weekend. We hit 90 here today!
Yes, we did have a large group, probably the largest on record. Not bad for a 50th anniversary of K-Camp. Besides the 50th anniversary of the camp, we welcomed my grandparents 60th and my cousin's engagement to his girlfriend (look for rock on top left of sign). It was a busy weekend!
For those of you wondering, yes I took that toy hauler down that little road that's narrower than the trailer.
Once leaving the woods on the way home, we stopped for gas about 8 miles from the entrance to the woods. I was washing the windshield and saw this pass. I had to grab the camera to catch this '02 2370 as it circled around in the gas station across the street and left (probably looking for diesel:
Also, the white thing on the side of the road is refer roof cap (the part that fell off) that we lost on the way out last year.
I have to get to bed, so I'll answer questions tomorrow.
Jon

Dang Jon, now that's what I call a Fire!! You probably lit up the enitre area with that blaze.
Probably one of the first years that you were all sitting around in shorts sweating like you were. I know we were on a Lake with some friends in Northern Minnesota where they broke a record high of 86 degrees!!
Global Warming at its best. Something tells me Al Gore wasnt lieing. Looks like a Generator to run an A/C in November will be needed in a few years
Great pictures Jon, thanks for sharing

Yeah, we try to have a bigger and better fire every year. This year we had the sparks flying higher than the tree right there, so about 150'+ up. I couldn't believe we were so far away from the fire and I was still sweating! I thought about smores but opted just for the chocolate only. I went in to get it and opened it once I sat down again, but the chocolate was already so soft that I could have bent the entire bar in a circle.
The high up there was in the high 80's on Saturday and Sunday, but I checked the forcast and the lows are supposed to go into the low 30's with rain on Wednesday night.
Around here, we hit 90 yesterday, which broke the record for the day as well as the latest 90 degree day in the year ever on record.
