Memorial Day weekend camping pics thread

Kitty and I went to Brunswick Family CG this weekend and Had a blast, just chilling out! We got the 5er back Thursday evening and took it right to the CG. We parked it in our site and plugged it in, for the A/C to have a chance to cool it off. We spent Friday evening to Monday afternoon. The CG doesn't have many "Sites" but there are lots of PPL that gather around a power/water post. There are also several tent sites.

Our side backed up to the Potomac river and we had a great view, out the back picture window! We tried to go to breakfast this morning, but were not allowed to leave the CG. We were told that fire/rescue was coming in, for a possible drowning on the river. A guy in a kayak was in trouble and they sent EVERYBODY to the rescue! There were two ambulances, one engine, one attack truck, one rescue squad, four boats and a Maryland state police rescue helicopter!

KD and Harley weren't impressed with the goings on... Can you tell?

Our site was nice and the neighbors were fairly quiet. We actually got to put the awning out, for the second time ever!

Our Sunny is getting broken in right!

Two weekends till Buttonwood!!!!!

"The article failed to explain the fact, that those CSX tracks are at the east end of the Brunswick rail yard. It is very common for there to be delays, when a train is trying to enter a yard. The stopping and starting is per CSX rules. The conductor has to walk to each switch, throw it for the proper route and visually verify that the switch is properly lined. Only then, can the train move. There is a lot more to railroading, than people think. It is not simply a matter of “Point-A” to “Point-B” There are sometimes many stops, along the way. The train crew in question, may not have known that there was an emergency happening. Even if they did, they are not allowed to break the rules, to get out of the way. One other thing I would like to point out, is the fact that the railroad owns the land that their tracks occupy. They allow parts of their own property, to be used as road crossings."

I should have also added the fact, that this is a prime example of why there needs to be an alternative "Emergency-only" access to the CG and boat launch.

I had just finished reading your post when I saw this article. Knowing you had experience on "both sides of the track", I was hoping I might get some insight from the "other side of the tracks".

Keeping with the theme of this post, here we where. Delaware SP, Central Ohio. A whopping 20 miles from home. We use this camp so the Grandkids can come visit for the day. Son and his fiancé also came camping this year in there rig.

And Son’s camper next to us

And Cheesy Potatoes cooking for Sunday cookout.

Weather Friday, Saturday and Sunday was GREAT!. Monday we got rained on big time. It stopped for us to go home on Tuesday.
