Kitty gone Camping

Hey Ya'll,

Who else is going camping Memorial Day weekend? I am leaving friday night, for a "huge trip " I'm headed to the Brunswick Family Campground in Brunswick, MD. Just a very plain simple place, but it's camping. It should take me about an hour to get there. And I'll do my best to leave most of my tools home . "

Now, all I have to do is get the drain installed into the WH drip pan, and the risers installed on the sofa and get the sofa back in it's place, and the rest of Sunny back together. Hum, I better get off here and head out there for a while. Watch for more photos in the mods section.

Kitty

We are heading down to Gold Head State Park about 30 minutes south of our house (Orange Park Fl)

No sewer hookups but we are there only 3 days. Nothing real fancy at the park to do but we are out enjoying the trailer instead of sitting home watching the tube.

We MIGHT be camping at my brother's house in Berryville, depending on if we have our new truck or not. He has 7 acres, so we bring the camper when we visit and let other family have the extra bedrooms.

Poor Man Campin'
We're planning on (dry) camping at my Uncle's farm with family Memorial Day weekend. There's only about 10 acres left, but that's plenty for 4 RVs. It's about 20 miles or so N. of State College, PA. Mostly depends though on how DW feels.

Did sqeeze in a quick trip striper fishing with my Dad and friends on Tues. down in Ridge, MD. It was a one night stay, but I think Dad really enjoyed himself; and DW knew I'd been chompin' at the bit to go camping.

Would love to see Kittys mods., but with old computer and dial-up, it's a painstaking process. Hope to upgrade the computer this fall. Glad to read all the posts though... Happy Camping!

JohnB is on a distinguished road
Heading out on Friday for 4 nights. Took Tuesday off work.

Heading to Delaware State Park here in Ohio. The park is big enough and spread out enough that even with a full camp we are not crowded.

Counting the days down now. Come on Friday

John

Spending the weekend with a bunch of my fellow nozzlenuts and their families at a local campground near LeRoy, NY. The same group has been camping together on the holiday weekends since the seventies. For some reason, there are not any more campfires until the sun rises any more. Less alcohol involved also . By ten oclock everybody is going to bed. It's h*** getting old.

Have a great weekend everyone

We're headed to Fish Creek Pond state CG in the Adirondacks. This will be our first trip in our new Sunline with our 2 grandchildren. We're just as excited as they are.

Bobo.... the nice thing about getting older is no one expects you to stay up all night anymore.

Mike,

Have a safe trip to Fish Creek Pond. I hear it's real nice there.
We will be going to Westcott Beach State Park. I hope the lake is calm.

WOW Bobo - you all sound like us - we are heading over to a private camp-out, near Lake George, with about 250 of our "closest freinds" - same group for 30+ years! This group started out as "Customized Show Van Owners", we progressed to pick up trucks & pop-ups, now most of us have travel trailers, 5th wheels, and some mighty fancy motor homes!
See what getting old does to us!

Anyway - we are heading out on Thursday morning, spending the long weekend, but will head home on Sunday, so we can march with our ambulance corps & fire department in the Memorial Day parade!

Hope everyone has a safe, healthy & sunny holiday weekend! Please take a moment to think of our soliders, where ever they may be!

Remember, Freedom is NOT Free!!!!

Poppy & Nana,

Obviously you are 'experianced' about camping with fellow nozzlenuts. Myself had started by sleeping in the bed of my PU, graduated up to a tent, then to a pop up and finally into a coach. It only took about thirty years to smarten up. Somehow with the lack of ' liquid insulation', I'm feeling the cold. Don't know if I'm getting older or wiser. Enjoy your holiday weekend.

This will be our maiden voyage in the new 2553. I've been testing things to make sure there are no unpleasant surprises. I still have to flush the anitifreeze from the water system, fill the hot water heater and make sure it works. We will be at our favorite spot, Pioneer Campground in Laporte, PA. Worlds End and Ricketts Glen State Parks are nearby and both have good hiking trails.

mdfiregal and I spent this past weekend in the "Mosquito Capital of the World" a.k.a. Point Lookout State Park in Southern MD. They're big, they fly in squadrons, and you really need an anti-aircraft gun to keep them from hauling the coach away!!!! mdfiregal had some cross-stitch pieces in a show at Sotterly Plantation and that was the closest we could get to there. Anyhow, she did bring home a 3rd prize for one, so it was worth it!!!!

We are spending next weekend in Old Mill Stream Campground at Dutch Wonderland. In June, we are going to Quarryville Jellystone the weekends of the 8th (shooting in a tournament with my dad in Oxford) and 22nd (A Day out with Thomas the Train in Strasburg), and back to Old Mill Stream on the 15th (Daughter's Birthday).

And yes, we have done the "nozzlenut" thing a time or two!!!!
