I expected and prepared for the worse figuring anything less would be a gift. Well the storm is over with just a few 30 mph wind gusts and a little rain remaining. My house is fine and my Sunline made it through just fine and dry inside. We only got winds just under 60 mph and 2 inches of rain in my rain gauge. The winds lasted all day and my yard is littered with leaves and small sticks but no downed trees or big limbs. My power and cable flickered a few times but I never lost power. Unfortunately the town and state didn't do as well, there are massive power outages in RI. Power is out to over 9,000 of 12,000 customers in my town and 330,000 of 420,000 customers in the state when I last checked the National Grid website. The village of Wickford and most of the area around it is dark tonight. There are not many downed trees or limbs so it must be just a few breakers that tripped to shut down massive areas.

One bright note, Saturday I took down hanging plants and my hummingbird feeder and the bar they hang on. Just after that I saw hummingbirds fly up to the spot the feeder had been located and stop. They would hover a bit then fly off so I refilled the feeder and hung in near where it had been. They returned all day Saturday so I left it up. Today they managed to make it just fine through all the wind gusts and the feeder stayed in place hanging from a gutter on the covered part of my deck. Here is one visiting during the storm. They love to perch and rest while they feed.

Returned home yesterday and house and cars and boat are fine. There was quite a bit of wind towing home but the truck and TT handled it just fine. Hope everyone else who experienced the storm fared well.

Returned home today to south Jersey. Everyone and everything ok. Turned out to be another camping experience for us. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. They worked.

Carol and I are fixing up her late mom's house (#2) while living in her house (#1). I'm also the executor of my aunt's estate.......

House #1: Woke up Sunday morning at 06:30 power on, no damage, we're looking good. Returned from bathroom break and Carol woke up and asked me if the power was on. Yep, hon, no problem......then she says "then why is the clock not on?" Yep, that quick, no power, still no power, power might be on 11:30 on Friday according to the power co., I'm thinking Sat. at the earliest.

House #2: Power is fine, got a little bit of seepage through basement floor...just enough the wet things on floor.....currently sleeping in Sunny in the driveway....only one bed in house and it's burried under stuff.

Aunt's house: Power's on, roof leaked in several places. Estate will be paying for a new roof.

Mom and Dad's: NO power or phone, same given restoration time. Took my generator there to keep sump pumps up and running.

Overall, not bad...no injuries, relatively minor damage, major inconvienience.

Our Prayers to those who lost loved ones and those who are dealing with a lot worse than we are.

Mack

Storms over we cooked in the T1700 and had a shower plugged in the inverter and watched the news it did not leak a drip (oh yeah it was in the garage) 26 hours later we had power again some are still with out and probably will be until the weekend (some thing around 67,000) We got 4.5" of rain and 39 mph wind but no trees down only a totaled storage shed. To give you an ideal of the power of wind I had a 500# wood chipper tied to the rafters of the shed and it had 4 ground anchors, well it was upside down with the 500# chipper on top of it. The river has flooded our lower fields but that is fairly normal happens every spring. Vt and NH really got clobbered we got off lucky. Hope every one else is fine.

Quick Update....

Our house is still without power, no repair crews in sight. 84 hours and counting!! Power Co. is still saying late Friday night or Saturday.

Parents house: Phone has been restored and power was restored about 3 pm. Repair crew was from Alabama. Local power company is bringing in crews from as far out as TEXAS!!
