I think the weather is broke...
This year for sure has been all over the map in weather conditions.
A week ago we had a foot of frozen layered snow on the ground, morning lows of -15F and it never made it above freezing the whole week... Sounds like home in upstate NY...
In the last day or so it hit close to 60F with rain, melts the snow, high river/flood warnings and last night in the 3rd week of February we have a tornado...
Here is the local news clip.
NWS Confirms Tornado Touched Down In Delaware County | WBNS-10TV Columbus, Ohio
This is about 10 miles east of my sons place. About 30 miles from our house here. Crazy... Seeing the 2 campers in that pole barn with the roof missing is not a pleasant site.
Next week we are back to the freeze again. Nothing like full On and Off seasons in a day or two...
OK I'm ready for the mud of spring!

B-b-b-b-but they never have tornados in Columbus OH!!!
Glad you and your son are ok.
We had 49 F today but the yard is still white cement (snow, rain, freeze, repeat...). Where I used the snowblower to clear a path to the camper and the bird feeder it is now mud and in a few days that will be a skating rink again.

Hi John;
Went out in the yard, which is full of snow, and did a walk around, and in the camper. Where it sits at our home in Windsor On we look at it out the kitchen window. The snow which was over a foot on the roof is almost gone, still deep in the yard though. I looked at the 14 day trend on our weather network and as of March 8 it is still very low only making it up to 32f. We are leaving near the end of April. I hope it gets warm enough to set it up for the trip. We also hope we do not have to cancel for some reason. Around this house we just never know!
Safe travels everyone
Ted

Yes, the weather is for sure a topic of discussion... Today is was great! was mid 50's, sunny and very little wind. Perfect camping weather actually for a winter get away. Just this year too busy... I had to fix the overhead door in the garage by the house here today.
This coming week it is suppose to be back to winter...

Thanks for the good thoughts Gene. Yes I am too, glad all were OK.
The weather patterns are all over the map in the last few years. Normal is becoming, anything goes...
There are part of OH that are in tornado paths. Xenia Ohio has been hit really bad a few times A really bad one in 74 and another one in year 2,000. Something about the way the land features are affected by the weather it seems.
Here in Central Ohio, near Columbus, we do get mini spurts here in the last few years. Hope they stay mini

Tornado's!
This is a card I pull out from time to time drives Judy, my wife a little crazy sometimes. When I was 5 months old my Mom older brother and I arrived in Windsor ON Canada. I was born in UK and Dad a proud Canadian soldier had already come back to Canada.
Anyway back to the tornado. We lost everything but us. There were five of us in the home and it was the first time my Mom had been on her own to make supper as my Dad's parents lived with us. They had gone to my Aunts for a visit. This happened June 17 1946. At the 59th anniversary I heard the radio report and my Mom was quoted. It can be heard at www.essexwheelers.ca/bigwinds then click on hear it here. The baby referred to is me!
