How to Tow your Sunline in the Snow
Has the recent weather got you down and not been able to camp?
Well... this came to me today. For those of you into old time tractors, this silent video is suppose to be of Henry Ford him self demoing a Fordson Snow Tractor. Have no idea if it is him or not, but the gizmo is pretty neat.
Since it can haul 20 tons of logs over the snow, if we exchange our camper tires for sled runners, well it can add a whole new meaning to winter camping
Have fun

PS. To convert this to modern day machinery, they would have to do some serious guarding on the system....

Or just put it in 4high and drive real slow...crying the entire time at how dirty the coach is getting
Hard to tell in this shot, but the camper is behind me. This was February of 2009 and it was Georgia if you can believe that!!!
I was pulling over to kick the snow buildup out from the wheel wells because anytime we hit a bump, it was rubbing

That's what I've heard!
I'm leaving Florida on Friday to drive up to Michigan and pick up a cargo trailer load full of tools, furniture and things we left in storage when we sold our house.
I've been watching the weather and it looks like I'm going to be battling this slop the entire drive North, and with my luck, probably the entire way back down to Florida
White Knuckles here I come

Yeah, last I saw was 3-4" around here and 4-5" down in Monroe to the OH border. They say like lines across the state with these totals. So I imagine you'll hit more from the south. It's supposed to start tomorrow and come through Friday morning, so I think you'll be OK coming after then, at least around here. I'm not sure when the storm will clear areas south though.
Have a safe trip,
Jon

Thanks Jon, I'm not too worried about driving because this trip will be strictly business and I'll only be pulling an empty 6x12 v-nose trailer up through all the slop.
I'm thinking the way back home the roads will be clear and smooth sailing the whole way. And besides, it's all downhill coming back to Floirda isnt it?

John:
That's a great video. The gentleman on the tractor could pass for Henry. He frequently wore a dress coat and hat in later pictures when he drove his 9N, 2N, and 8N tractors. However, I doubt that he would have participated in a video that attached the same snow drive train to a Chevy automobile. Thanks for sharing the video.

Al, yeh I thought the same thing with a Chevy car..... Or maybe he was showing the conversion kit could work on other brands??? Have no clue.
Mack, the pics are not coming thru and I even loaded the pic properties into a browser and they will how show up.
Do they need a user accout to view?
John

I had issues too. I'm not sure what the problem is since the pics seem to show up fine when I put the address into an address bar.
I searched around and found the page containing the pics:

Those tracks have been around for awhile. If I recall they cost about $8,000
