Got some goodies today

It's been in the works for a little while, but it finally happened. There's a guy local parting out a 1980 17.5' SB, which I mean a part out in Michigan is really rare. He's has an entertainment business that he rents out and operates inflatable bouncy things. To go with them, he's creating themed trains to take the kids for rides in to match the themes of the bouncers. He bought the trailer cheap to use the frame for to transport/store this train.

Here's what I salvaged. I had to send my dad for the stuff, and since the guy wasn't home, he didn't get the owners paperwork the guy claims to have, or the VIN Hopefully I can get that soon though.

My dad says it's in pretty bad shape. Rotted out all over. Most of the good stuff is gone too, like the appliances, etc. The guy told me on the phone that it came with no refrigerator, he gave his neighbor the stove, the furnace is gone, the awning is gone, etc.

The significance of the cabinet door is because it has one of those special pull latches that I've never seen in person before. My dad says this was the only one that wasn't broken.

I'm also very excited that the screen door slider tabs aren't broken. A lot of times they are, and since they are used to hold the door shut with magnets, it requires a new screen door latch to be installed.

I really wanted the VIN plate from beneath the door sill plate, but sadly it was missing and my dad says he didn't even see any staple holes. Original flooring too. I didn't think he'd get the sill plate, but since I don't have one on the door to my room, that will go nicely there.

I got the RVIA plate just for the hell of it. Don't really need yet another, I don't know why I keep collecting them. This has to be close to #10, and I still don't have a nice one with the chrome finish on it still.

I got the entry door handle because I know the handles break a lot and this still has it. I'm anxious to wire it up and see how it works, if it does.

The strips of fabric are the remnants of some valances. I don't know why they are missing from the boards, but the PO pulled them and had them waiting along with the hubcaps and metal.

Oh, and the door catch just because, I know you can't get them anymore. I've got the one mint one on my room door, and I've got a couple spares from a previous trailer I replaced them on, but it's always good to have some spares of the rare parts. Since it was still on there...

I got the metal just because I don't have one of those '80-'81 versions of that logo. These look pretty good, and I'm excited that he also cut the striping detail out with it. The striping was stripped on the door side, so I didn't know any was left on the other side. Why would someone strip off the striping on one side and not the other?

Can't wait for Friday now!
