Gail, Buckley (our puppy) and I took off Friday morning for Letchworth Sate Park with our new-to-us 1983 T-1550. We met our son Max, his wife Kimmy and our grandson Mason at the campground and spent some time with them, then hit Lorraine's Diner in Castile for a great meal. Friday night and into Saturday early morning we got hit with a major deluge, lots of rain.
Saturday morning 1st thing I tried another idea (thanks mainah!) to get my power working. It did the trick, and we had full power. This is our first trailer with benefits, i.e. water system, toilet, stove, etc. We took off Saturday morning for an antique outboard motor (AOMCI) meet at the boat launch on the SW end of Silver Lake, just west of Letchworth. It was a crummy morning, cold, blustery, rain off and on, but saw some old friends and got a boat ride out of the deal. We left about 1 to meet another son (Billy) who lives out that way and his girlfriend Ashley. We had lunch at the Charcoal Corral in Perry. It was okay. After lunch we went back to the campground, showed off the trailer, spent some time, then they took off. We went into Castile and hit the little supermarket there, got some burgers and beer and headed back for our first meal cooked on the T-1550's stove. All three burners work great.
After a good nights sleep, we got ready to go early, then went out and saw some of the sights that make Letchworth the so-called Grand Canyon of NYS. The weather was crummy, so we didn't spend long doing that, and no pics. After getting gas, we went back to the camp site, hooked up and headed for the dump station. Yet another new experience that worked out just fine.
We were fortunate that we did not hit too much rain on the way home. On the positive side, we did not detect any leaks in the T-1550, which for a trailer this old is a real good thing.
Gotta get to work, but figured I'd post this report on the weekend. I put a few pics in my album if you want to see...
