Feels like cheating

Having been tent campers our whole lives we found a 28' Sunline just before Christmas. The layout was perfect. So perfect in fact that after attending 2 RV shows this winter with all the latest and greatest we couldn't find one we would trade for our Sunline. 2 trips under our belts, one near our cabin in Bitely MI and the other to Platte River campground in the Sleeping Bear dunes in MI we are totally thrilled. We got to the dunes in 95 + weather and flipped on the AC. Then it turned cold so we flipped in the furnace. Even took ice cream and popsicles with us. This is truly cheating and we LOVE IT!

Pat & Chuck,

Welcome to the world of "Roughing it smoothly" (I know that is an Allegro motor home phrase, but it fits us Sunline owners). Not having to physically pack up every little thing that you want/need/use when camping sure has it's advantages. I love being able to have the camper loaded with our stuff, clothes, etc., usually only having to load
some food.

What year/model Sunline do you have, and this group loves to see Sunline pictures.

Kitty

Welcome to the club! I know what you mean. I tend to get the 4 year itch and start looking for something "better" than our 2753 Sunline "Tweety". There just isn't anything! We love the floorplan. We always say we have 4 rooms - living room, eat in kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom! Sunline really knew how to pack alot of function into a small space.

Tented up to a few years ago myself. Getting up in the middle of the night involved shoes and flashlights.

Roughing it now means you don't have hookups. Trust me, you'll get used to it.

Tell me about it. One major thing I noticed about going from tent camping to TT (besides the obvious middle of the night bathroom runs) is you don't need as many clothes. When we tent camped it seemed like you needed to change cloth 3 times a day, especially if it rained.

We had a pop-up for a short time as well and that was definately a step up from a tent but still no where near the convenience of a travel trailer. Hard walls, a bathroom with shower, full (sorta) kitchen, hot water and not having to crawl into the bed are amazing.

Ahhh yes, we did enjoy the tenting days but the 2 main activities then were "trying to keep it dry" followed by "drying it out". Now I can lie in bed and just listen to the "plop" "plop" of the rain and be thankfull and dry. Do I miss those days? NO

We haven't even spent the first night in our 1550 and I'm already feeling spoiled. Just knowing that we won't be climbing up & down attic stairs to put the gear together is a relief.
