Facebook

Are there other Facebook groups for Sunline?
Great place for sharing camping pics and chatting. Only 92 people right now.

I guess I needed to join but it looked like the last post was in 2012. Posts here are more recent. I prefer this site to Facebook, I think. Here we have the "files" tab up top to get more Sunline information. Between that and JohnB, what more do you need?

Edited to add: I did see a most interesting website I hadn't visited in a long time. A most interesting couple.

Generally the average Sunline owner is older and less likely to be on Facebook. I think there will be a shift over time, and it's starting to happen now as younger people pick up the older ones and start fixing them up.

That's the only group I'm aware of. There's a page for this site, that the owner created automatically, but being a page, no one knows when someone posts there.

Lol it's the direction I think this club will go in very soon! In the throwaway society we grew up in, people will start wanting a piece of their childhood again and have the chance to recycle something into a new life. The vintage camper restoration business/hobby has skyrocketed in just a few short years. I remember my first Sunline flip (which was built before I was even born!), they just considered it an old trailer with no value. That trailer recently re-sold last fall for over $5000...

That said, I'm still waiting to see a Sunline ad top something like this:

22 Foot Long ***** Magnet.

I have a 1966 Scotty, a 1973 Apache Ramada (hard sided pop up) and now a 1984 Sunline T-1661 I think it is.
So I get the vintage thing

Quite a nice collection there!

I'm still keeping an eye out for a cheap, original, Leola built, pre-'65 Shasta Airflyte to put behind my '59 Merc. It will be a more appropriate combo for taking to Tin Can Tourist rallies, but we'll see how it goes with the Sunline this fall. More importantly, I'm trying to find a Sunline like the one I grew up in, that I can keep and preserve to a degree before they are harder to find. I've spent over 10 years trying to find the exact trailer and while I haven't completely given up, I do want to find one like it sooner than later.

If you spot my '99 T-2453, let know. I want it back, not replace the Cougar, but to have a compact alternative for short jaunts.
