Bummer

I'm in a dark blue funk today ............. we had to cancel our vacation, which was supposed to be a two month trip through the South.

I've been having a little trouble with my right hip until Sunday when it really started acting up. Have been on meds since then and after the Dr. appointment yesterday it looks like a replacement is going to happen.

Looks like most of my my summer is going to be spent just looking at Sunny and daydreaming about the places we would have been

DITTO HERE TOO!

I wish I could camp out in my driveway. Even if I had one a TT right now, I'm not allowed to keep it in the driveway more than 48 hours. Doesn't that stink???

Boomer,

I know what you're going through and wish you a full and speedy recovery. I went through a similar situation last June that ended my camping season for the rest of the year.

Thanks for the good thoughts everyone .............. Since my wife still teaches, summer is our only chance to get away. That's why our trips are for a two month period. Heading south for the winter is a dream that's five years away.

This morning the Doc and I will be discussing what's what and talk about surgery.

We're wishing you the best, maybe for the summer, you could change your call handle from Boomer to Bummer

Sorry I had to say it. Wishing you well and you'll be in our prayers

an update on my tale of woe.

I've been in the hospital since 6/18 with a Staph infection of the right hip. Had surgery on 6/23 to flush the area and remove the "ball" at the top of the femur. I'll be in a nursing unit until at least 8/3 on IV to kill the "bug."

After the Staph is gone I'll get a new hip and hopefully be on the road to healing (and sanity.)

My poor little Sunny is waiting for me

Good luck everyone ..... Have fun this Summer.

Hay Boomer,
Sorry to hear of your complications. Get rid of that nasty infection, get that new hip and get out of that hospital ASAP. The most commom problem with hip replacement is infection, so the sooner you gan get home, the better. My mom had her R hip replaced when she was 75, spent 2 nights post op in the hospital, then came home. Did rehab, and 5 weeks later she was back 10 pin bowling. Get Well, and you'll be back out enjoying Sunny in no time,

Kitty

Bummer ---- bummer --- bummer

This past Friday I moved from the nursing unit to the main hospital, I was running a fever and had a pain in my rib cage, so everthing concerning my hip surgery was put on hold. After having a CT scan, it was determined that I have two blood clots in my lungs and have been put on Heperin and other stuff. The fevers have now gone away, my blood cultures have been negative and the pain is gone from my chest. Today. the team of Docs said possibly the surgery could proceed next week. That will make it almost two months since I was initally admitted.

Aside from boredom, the pain of these uncomfortable hospital beds is driving me up the wall ................ Oh for just one night in my little Sunny and it's nice comfortale bed.
