Big Teton sold, faithful Sunline for our camping needs

I recently sold our 43 &1/2ft Teton Scottsdale after towing it out to Casper, Wy for some warranty repairs(sure was easier to tow to Denver, PA). On the way home I met up with a young couple in Kansas that saw our Teton for sale on Craiglists. So ownership was transferred and now we are back to our first rv, our Sunline fifth wheel. Time to get it all spiffed up and ready for the upcoming camping season. One thing I keep thinking about, I really liked the vinyl roof on the Teton. I am going to start planning on replacing the rubber roof on the Sunline. It does not seem such a tuff project and I think I can do it pretty easy myself. I am just tired of the streaking and the appearance no matter how many times and how many gallons of "303" I have applied to it. I am sure I will get lots of curious looks towing a 30 foot fifth wheel with a F-450 pickup. Just have to tell them these Sunlines sure are heavy for their length.

Congrats Capt! You sold it somewhat quickly, didn't you?

Do you think you'll still look for a TC, or just stick with the Sunline only?

Jon

Congrats Skup,

I'm also glad to hear that your Sunline will be back in regular use. With winter approaching, you have a few months to get it all spiffy again.

Kitty

PS: I know the real reason you went back to the Sunline, you were spoiled and home sick

Craiglists does seem the place to list items you want to sell. I have used it more than for just the Teton and have had very positive results. I listed the Teton and within 3 days I had three solid interested parties. The Teton sold for 94% of the price we paid for it, so we are happy campers. Teton has recently had a huge price increase(very hard to compete with the oil industry in Casper for workers). The buyers got a beautiful big Teton for a very fair price and we recouped almost all our initial cost. Very sentimental(or mental) about the Sunline, our family has had a lot of fun camping in it. I did notice a smal area of delamination, just below the 120vac receptacle on the right side of the trailer, the receptacle must be leaking moisture. I think I can remove the receptacle, gently open up the delamination, squirt in some Gorilla glue and apply pressure until it sets up, as long as no rot of the Luan has occured. Still looking at the truck campers, most impressed with the Arctic Foxes we have looked at, much less so with some of the other brands. Will take our time, no need to rush.
