Been a little quiet lately...
It's been a little quiet over the last few months, and I just thought of something fun we could do.
Answer the poll with the number of Sunlines you've owned, INCLUDING YOUR CURRENT ONE, if you have one currently.

Just joined and not sure how to post a question...so hitting a reply button in hope someone will guide me....I am looking at a 2002 Solaris SE 2475...it appears to be in great shape..I am driving 6 hours tomorrow to see it and perhaps buy it...the book shows the value at $2970 low and $3580 high...they are asking $8400...that appears way too high....do these units command a price over high book?? Garry, you need to be sure, when figuring "book value" that you are not selecting options that are already included standard on the Solaris package. If it's an SE (and someone correct me if I'm mistaken) it probably has a fiberglass exterior, which is perhaps the only installed option on that coach.
Still, book values, even when accurately input aren't too representative of market value. A wild guess on value of that coach would be somewhere in the $7k range. Someone else might give you a better guesstimate.

Jeff:
Hey..thanks for the reply. I was thinking about $5500 which is about $1500 over high book..maybe I am too low...it is a fiberglass unit and elec tongue jack. Has the original blue carpet on the floor, but it looks in really good shape...oak cabinets..so guess I will know tomorrow when I drive up to look at it.
Thanks again...Garry

For whatever it's worth I found a 2006 T-2363 for my brother last year that was absolutely mint and we picked it up for $8k. It was a really good deal at that time.
I would think with the fiberglass sides, yet 4 (now 5) years older a fair value would really be in the $7k range, but I see you are in AZ where I suspect there are scarcely any Sunlines at all. If it's in REALLY good shape I'd have no problem getting up to $6500-7000... with the idea that it's much cheaper/easier to buy a well-cared-for camper at full price, than it is to buy a water-damaged or uncared-for unit at a bargain price, but then have to sink a bunch of money into it fixing it up. Unless you're into that sort of thing...

Jeff:
Did the 2006 have a slide? This one does not have a slide but it is perfect floor plan for just me and my dog,"Dakota". SHe loves to camp...I had a terry trailer and hail took it out so gave it away. I think the fiberglass would be stronger and hold up better than the aluminium siding...THanks again for your info and help. I have never seen a sunline name this far out west...

The 2363 does not have a slide. I would estimate they are comparable units, based only on the model number.
Sunlines are very well made for the most part, especially the non-slide models, so I'd be willing to pay quite a bit extra for the quality if I were you. Especially compared to Fleetwoods or other junk being mass-manufactured around the 2002 timeframe.

I will drive up in the morning and be back at the ranch in late afternoon...I will let you know.. I was really looking at new trailers and had it down to the Forest river Surveyor, fun finder 214 and heartlands North trail 21 Fbs...I really think the heartland is by far the best built of the three...but to get a great price, I need to drive 2,000 miles...I saw this and thought hey it;s just me and the dog and don;t really need a brand new one...so tomorrow will tell..thanks again.

I know the one you're talking about. It's absolutely beautiful, and made itself worthy of being featured on a Sunline RVs Facebook status update.
From what I can see option wise:
- Fiberglass Exterior, SE Package
- Either partial or full walk on roof
- Roof access ladder
- Full carpeting throughout
- Factory aluminum wheels
- Hinged LP Cover
- Power Tongue Jack
- Spare tire kit with cover
- Upgraded toilet
I mean, it's hard to put a value on a Sunline with so many options, because they are so rare.
Issues I see:
- Holes (with no protection) in filon siding, door side front.
- Weird cable connection thing for bedroom (with plate outside), off door side toward front. Make sure this has been sealed properly and not just cut in.
- Potential split in filon siding, rear below left taillight.
- Random holes in the wall in bedroom interior wall and bathroom/dinette interior wall (TV mounts?)
Not saying it's worth $8450, but it's certainly worth more than $3580 given the options and especially the condition. $5500 would be a GREAT deal if they do it.
Oh, the sales lady/photographer doesn't look too bad either...

Well you are a wealth of knowledge...thank you very much...we have very high wind advisory today and probably not a good day to tow without an equalizer...so waiting to see if the wind will die down some....its a long drive towing in these conditions..I will look at the issues your surfaced....thanks again...I appreciate your help and close eye...Garry

I now see the damage you mentioned...called the dealer and he agreed with all but the split in the filon below the tail light....he has someone from Minn flying in and offered him $6500...so if I want it that is the price....his partner agreed to my $5500 offer but didn't know the other guy had offered more....so will drive up...take a look and go from there...Wish me luck everyone! I will post more as I return home tonight....

Just want to insert my 2 cents worth here..I think it is worth the $6500 if it is the floorplan you want and it doesn't need major fixing. I paid $7500 for my 2002 2363 a year ago, and while it may seem high to some, I am very happy with my 8th (or is it 9th) Sunny! Check the tires though--I didn't check the year of manu on mine and now have to spend $$$ to replace four!

I just checked the link that John provided..that looks like a real gem! Myself ?...I would jump on that!Watch out for that weather though! PS..when we took our second trip out West, some rancher in a Texas gas station approached us and admired our Sunline--wanted to buy it right there. He said he had never seen such a nice looking coach out there and took down the Sunline Co. info I provided for him..

Okay...here is the posting on what I saw...The pictures were much nicer than the actual unit...damage as follows:
1. rip in filon about 6 inches below the left tail light..the areas around it was real soft.
2. Major soft spot on the roof from one side to the other extending through where the a/c was on the roof..about 18 inches wide...
3. roof had not been cared for or recoated...black small prep marks like mold all over.
4. stove igniters did not turn on stove.
5. about 18 holes in bedroom wall...if you patched them..it would look like ????? the shelves were real cheap home made and could not hold a tv..
6. Drilled a hole from the ext to the interior bedroom and placed a coaxle mounting on the outside exposed to the weather, no cover and a cord dangling off the wall in the bedroom.
7. Holes in the dining area in the wall as well...
8. wheel fenders were cracked and did not seat against the body of the filon...they tried to fill the gaps with a cheap silicon and it had cracked away from the body.
9. Same for around the exterior doors to storage...
10. three screws drilled in the exterior of the right front side of the trailer...no reason just three screws into the filon...
11. the exterior appeared to have never been waxed or cleaned...decals pealing, no shine, and the bottom seam around the trailer was pulling away from the trailer in many places...
A guy is flying in from Colo and offered the dealer $6500...I took a pass and will let him have it...
also the dealer owner who I was working with, no showed me and left me for his employees...I even called him before I left the ranch and he was 20 minutes from the office..yet his employees said he wasn't working today...hum....
So not a total waste...my dog Dakota and I had a great time singing to each other and bonding...bad weather most of the way up and back...even had snow on the hills as I approached the valley to the ranch...
SO thank you all for your extra eyes for me on those pictures....I am sure I missed a few things...Garry

Leo...thanks..you are correct and a number of items I would not have thought to look at if it had not been for this site....Thanks again to all...I just feel bad about the guy flying in from Colo...as the dealer is misrepresenting the unit...I called the dealer before I left and asked him one by one about what everyone saw on the pictures...so while he lied to me over the phone, that is probably why he no showed me after I drove up to look at it..
Keep you eyes out for a good unit...it's only my dog and me so don't need a big unit...God Bless everyone! Garry
