Bearing Buddies on your trailer

I bought this Sunline last fall and have been doing some restoration on it over the winter. Yesterday i pulled the wheels to pack the bearings and checked the brakes. One of the previous owners thought it was a good idea to put Bearing Buddies on the axles and pump it full of grease. WRONG! Do NOT use bearing buddies on axles with brakes. My brake shoes magnets, drums and backing plates are covered with grease. The pressure of a grease gun will blow grease right by the seals and ruin your brakes. Just thought I would post a warning to others, so you don't end up with the mess I have.

Bearing buddies were designed for boat trailers the ideal was to force water out of the bearings (most people drive the trailers into the water to launch the boat) So you are correct it is a bad ideal to use them on some thing with brakes.
