Be careful with Damp Rid

I placed a cannister of Damp Rid in our camper to absorb moisture when it's closed up and realized a few weeks later that in moving things around, I had knocked it over, spilling the (now) liquid onto the carpet. Well, after several hours of clean-up (Damp Rid advises using cold water soaked rags and blotting the excess to clean up any spills) I'd like to pass this on: Do not use this product anywhere near items that can absorb like upholstery or carpet. It and leaves a black residue which is difficult to get it out.

I use the covered bucket damp rid. It is more like a giant desiccant pack.
