After having to buy 2 new batteries for my truck, I decided to do something to maintain them a little better. After having them checked, they were heavily sulfated. They were holding full voltage but not much reserve capacity. A regular charger/desulfator isn't practical when using the truck every day. So I bought on of these.
It desulfates anytime the truck is running. When it doesn't detect voltage from the alternator it turns off so it's not taking any power from the battery.
If the truck would have to sit for any time, it plugs into a regular Battery Minder charger/desulfator to keep the batteries charged.
If it works good, I'll get one for the trailer. Anytime the trailer is hooked to shore power, it will detect power from the onboard charger and desulfate the batteries.
