Coming from a pit bull owner, I can attest that my 75lb pit bull is probably a bigger baby than that dog was

My mom's cat that is declawed, will go to town on his face with its paws, and my dog just sits there licking it. I think he thinks the cat is playing with him or trying to give him a massage.

We always joke that the first cat he sees that isnt declawed is going to tear him up. He thinks they are all just play toys, and has never met one with claws...LOL
