2015 Lower Lake Camping Area - Promised Land State Park PA

Does anyone know if the lower lake camping area is closed during the 2015 season?

I cannot seem to be able to make a reservation in the Northwoods area. Can only select Pickerel Point and Deerfield.

Cannot find anything on the park site saying the lower lake area is closed in 2015. The face book page says Lower Lake is open during normal summer months.

Anyone heard anything?

Lower Lake is open 4-10-15. Don't know about Northwoods.

Glad to know someone besides me is thinking about 2015 camping already! I'd give them a call. Any time I've called a park for info they've been very friendly.

Ed, Northwoods is one of the 3 camping areas at Lower Lake or at least as the parks calls them. http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/cs/group...cnr_005576.pdf

Tweety, thanks and I did call them today. I now have a reservation in the Northwoods camping area.

I explained to them that the online reservations system was only showing Pickerel Point and Deerfield and nothing in the Lower Lake area. She did not know what the issue was, they are open and said they are going to update the reservation system. I did not ask when and I was happy I had my reservation.

This park works perfect for us as a stop over heading back to NYS. I wish it was closer. We would go more often.

We picked up this tip from a fellow Sunliner, 264SRinPA years back now and have been using it almost every year since.

Northwoods is all part of Lower Lake for reservations. When picking a camping area click on modern-rustic campsite and that will bring up Lower Lake. Clicking on modern campsites brings up Pickerel Point and Deerfield

Operator error...

Boy.... there is not a lot of "rustic" about Northwoods.... Yup, that was it. Do not know how I missed that... Doing that I can pick any of the 3 Lower Lake areas.

We have been camping at Promised Land all our lives. Usually use Lower Lake because everything is macadem and nice and level. Lately we have been using Pickerel Point because they have full hookup sites but they are hard to get. We had reservations this past October at Pickerel Point but canceled because the manhunt for Eric Frien was going on. When will you be there? We could stop by and show you where to view the bald eagles over at Pickerel Point. Ed & Lynn

Thanks Ed. I will send you a note when the time comes if timing works out. We are only there as a stop over unfortunately. In by 4:00pm, out by 10:00am. In about 1.5 years the next stop over can be a lot longer.
