1st trip sucessfull !

Our 1st outing with Sunny went well over all. NY to Va. and back in 6 days. We camped at Pocahontas state park which is very close to my daughters house so that my almost 5 yr old grand daughter could stay with us. We never had air conditioning in the old pop up , it was a life saver this trip as temps were in the high 90's !

We even did the Wal mart over night thing for the 1st time. found it on Rvparky, called ahead to make sure it was ok . very nice lot with a couple other campers there when we arrived about 9pm. Did some supply shopping and got a good nights sleep.

We did have a very near catastrophic event that very well could have gone very badly. One of the hot wires from the power cord came loose from a breaker and got against the buss bar with the neutral wires! melted the ends of all the neutral wires but I was able to cut them all back and reattach. I cant find any other damage and we were able to continue on with everything still working in the camper. we were very lucky!

Glad to hear your first trip went well.

The wire issue, yeh it has been a problem over time. A good thing to do during spring start up maintenance is to just check each terminal in the power converter for tightness. Especially when getting a used camper for the first time. The screws can loosen up when towing down the road, again over time. If you have checked them annually and they seem to stop moving, then you can increase the time span on checking. The biggest issue I have found is the first check after buying a used camper. Then once I know they are tight, it tames down and not so much an issue.
